  1. Could be keen to head across from the TPO if I'm not working that weekend
  2. Wheels look good. Put up a photo of the old wheels/tyres side by side so we can get an idea of how much smaller they are going to be. From memory the rears are already tucked about 15mm under the guards?
  3. I remember that drive to taupo to pick up the first 85, and pulling the sunroof and other pieces off. So damn keen to see this finally running, and the rest of your pictures!
  4. Bought a new boat for diving/fishing/exploring. It goes real fast! She is a 4.4m kiwicraft alloy pontoon, with a modified deep V hull. 2004 yamaha 50hp 2smoke, only done 40(!) hours. Pretty much just run in. Rides beautifully through the chop and small swell. Clocked at 60km/h beside a jetski! (37mph/32kts). Fairly fast when holding onto the tiller. Acceleration is meke, feels like the fastest thing I've ever piloted Looking forward to many hours of use. Got a few ideas for mods: ski pole/gun rack on the transom, proper anchor well up front, possibly a removable cover over the first few feet in the bow for overnight trip gear storage. All I need now is the weather to behave on the weekends
  5. Fuck yeah! Mean boes. I'll look at the numbers (properly this time!) on the way down, then everyone can have a fiddle on friday at Rangiwoods.
  6. Cam could you bring a laptop with the PCLink software on it? Leon's linux'd up netbook doesnt like talking to the ecu. We had to borrow his dads work laptop last night to have a look at what was happening
  7. drill+ductape Or leave work early and go see tony tomorrow afternoon? 10 mins to drill a hole and weld a nut on
  8. I wish I had that time, but sadly no. And no GC who has any idea what they are doing, only Thriller, and we all know that he's an idiot Shit I'll give it a go but dont really know what I'm mean't to be doing! Cam: I'll drive the 86 (very carefully!) and you can tune the gem on the way down? 75 has no wof (and wont get one till parts arrive) unfortunately
  9. de dion, mean! Thats what the 75 has got. Get stiffer rear leaves and a/fatter swaybar, should help the front stay a bit more settled. Reminds me, need to put new rear springs in alfa. Only bought them a year ago...
  10. told you months ago to get an adjustable balance bar! probably a bit overkill though..
  11. Awesome, pretty sure I saw this last night parked in beaumont quarter with a bunch of people checking it out! If so, looking real good!

    Cooling BS

^^does boe, zep had his like that and it bent the fins, then tore the fins off the tubes, which meant new radiator edit: was mounted by cable tie, if you do it proper with plates and rivet then will be fine. As long as pressure isnt concentrated on one/two fins..
  13. ^ maybe they will chuck you some tyres for the effort!
  14. advan definately, rising sun is cool but advan is cooler
  15. What a sleeper! Visor and racks make it even more so

    Seam Welding

its quite a well known alfa feature/joke, the chassis is designed to flex so that no matter the road surface, the car can bend around it and keep maximum tyre contact Some say thats what for suspension is for - me, i remain skeptical

    Gas

    - but only if your can can use the extra octane! 100 octane actually has less energy/L (or kg, cant remember which) than 91! So unless your engine has advanced timing or high comp, and needs the extra octane, you are wasting money. ie spraks gaylant has no need for 98, unless he puts mean camzz/flat tops in it. Petrol companies say heaps of shit about cleaning additives etc in their "premium" fuels, no idea if they are worth anything other than marketing hype..

    Track rubber

yeah i would imagine so on track, they would be great for the road though. Get another set of rims, then get some new/second hand semis. They are fucking mean, real stiff sidewalls etc so even if they are a bit balloon the turn in response is lightening. Plus you dont want to kill a good set of semis by continually heat cycling them with rude road driving. Save it for the track where they will be most useful

    Track rubber

I have eagle F1's currently, they do heat up pretty quick on the track, but it didnt feel like they overheated. I think in a heavier & more powerful car this would be an issue (have friends with S14 tuuuurbs, evo4, wrx, who i raced with all on GS-D3's as well at taupo - they found they were starting to overheat near the end of the session of 7+ laps). On a much lighter car like the zepgem, this would be far less of an issue i think. Have done 3 trackdays on them now, still heaps of tread left.. Totally awesome rubber for road driving though, and in the wet not much else can really compare. Plus the tread pattern looks the biz
