  1. Nice work, looking pretty good! Get some toe straps for more efficient pedalling and then it will be done
  2. Looking good son! I can see that being uncomfortable haha. What are your plans for getting the power to the ground?
  3. Belt driven air-raid siren on an electromagnetic clutch
  4. Weld up some rusty chain fuck man why did we not think of this!
  5. So mean!
  6. Got side cover & oil tank back from paint, top notch work! They have been painted in white with a few licks of sliver & blue pearl. You don't really notice it until the light hits just right then this awesome little sparkle pops out. Dreamy. Old mate wants to wait a couple weeks for them to harden & cure properly then it will be sticker time, followed by a few more coats of clear to seal them in. Booked in for a re-vin on Tuesday morning, fingers crossed that there will be enough evidence to prove that it has in fact been registered in NZ before.
  7. Yeah man, going for an original resto at this stage. Nats is going to be wild!
  8. Fixed some shit last night: the indicator switch works, the horn works and the battery doesn't flop around and short itself out on the frame! Tank & side covers are at panel beaters. He found a shit load of rust pin holes in the tank so they have been welded up now. Will run a POR15 tank seal kit through before it gets any colour and the new decals on it. Photo with the tank & covers off:
  9. Whaka yeah! The innards of sturmeys are amazing in exploded view like that
  10. My god
  11. Unsprung?
  12. So long and thanks for all the sausage!
  13. Good looking cranks! Loving the CL chainring too
  14. Heaps of all of the above. We have loads of floor space in the maze/house that is the AGMC HQ. Tom has lotsa room too. Bring a mattress
  15. Fixed exhaust
  16. Weapons of mass grill-struction up in hurr! Took the charcoal for a test run tonight, with a few more mods that badboy will be cold-killing and hot-grilling...
  17. Oh yeah Broccoli - chopped bars haha yeah I agree but there is a point where it goes from functional to fashionable! 660mm unchopped risers feel wide in city streets. Conversely though, a hand width either side of the stem is pretty ridiculous. Somewhere around drop bar width (400-450mm) is mean. Also now its broken you can make it fixed you giant wet potato sack!
  18. Snapped teeth wtf? Photos!
  19. Looking good! Things to do now: Change to fixed, lose rear brake, angle seat properly so its level/doesnt poke you in the bum-bum, ditch inner chainring, chop bars narrow/shoulder width to squeeze through sweet gaps in traffic, get some clips & straps on the pedals, matchy-matchy handlebar grips. Don't worry about changing headset its pretty much the least important bearing on the bike (in terms of quality needed).
  20. So damn keen!
  21. You mean cool old kawasakis
  22. The greatest thing about this bike is that you feel like you are actively committing multiple crimes just puttling down the road for a test ride. Can't wait to experience this new found ability to break speed limits!
  23. Perfect, cheers KK. Mid-feb looks promising
  24. Basically a weekend in Jan/Feb/Mar. The bosses are away in feb so that probably works better for us
  25. Mean! Paint looks good. Ring-a-ding-ding
