  1. also have a look at http://www.partsco.co.nz thats where I got my 4-1 gemini ones from.
  2. Shit yeah man! Be sure to check out Poida's Twin Cam forum, they have all the part number and shit. I think pretty much the only thing you can't get anymore is a sump gasket, so just do a top end rebuild and you're away. Microtech even have a MAP for g200ws!!
  3. No way dude, I wouldn't try to do that yourself!! I would even recommend cutting them over home-compression1!!
  4. What about an Uno Turbo engine? That'd be super fun
  5. You could even choose a 4ZE1 2.6 EFI or a G200W (twin cam) from a Piazza. There are so many choices!
  6. Does it have IRS? Some of the models do! You gotta chuck a G200W in there, I hear there are plenty around and they are easy as pie to fit (as long as you have the gearbox!!). Spook spoiler up front and Watts (black of course!) Orange with a black bonnet, haha.
  7. That's interesting about the MU shifter quadrant. Sounds like a cheap way to make a remote shifter for a gemini too!! So the Gemini Gearbox fits in the Chevette no worries?
  8. Wait a second!! So this is a 4ZC1 Isuzu engine with a blow through carb setup?!! Strange!
  9. Looks mint dude! Yeah more pics man, have you still got the car??

    sr20 into mkii

Premier Auto Services (or something similar) in Takanini have done this. They had a race car with one in it. They're hanging around the forum somewhere. Should try and get in contact with them.
  11. Yeah, the Fiat dude built a fence and stuff. Maybe he sold some parts to find it! Take a look next time you go past there, he could have turned the whole place into some sort of Fiat wreckers, or maybe it used to be, can't really remember...
  12. I can't wait to DRIVE it / lose shifter bolts etc
  13. FWD Dolomite = More at http://retrorides.proboards29.com/index ... 792&page=1
  14. I dunno but I swear that not all of them can have regos. He must be getting fines all the time! Never seems to have one in good conditon either. There was a similar guy on Mt Eden road with about 500 Fiat Unos parked outside and more inside the property. These people are crazy!
  15. Are you sure a link is that much? I emailed them and they said $850+ depending on what extras you get I guess. That is for the Link Engine Management wire-ing ECU. You don't need stuff like hand controllers and the like. Remapping will be the cheapest, but anything else you are still going to have to get wired in and tuned and shit..
  16. A good upgrade is a Commo VL or VLT fuel pump, seems to be what most of the punters use.

I'd imagine that it would still depend on the compression you are running. Are you going to strengthen the block? You don't want to blow holes in the side!! I'd drop it a little if I were you. What about shortened rods, that should do it...
  18. Don't be led to believe the turbo blocks are bad, that is not the case. Just think of them as any 80s turbo car making 150hp. Can handle prolly up to about 15psi, should go well. Lots of people just keep them stock and are very happy with it. I think you should do it and see, i'm sure you're sensible enough not to go blowing it up!
  19. If it was close to me, I'd buy it too, definately. I can prolly speak for every Gem enthusiast around too.
  20. Yeah, there is only one. Open the lid, it's either going to be twin or single cam. G200W - Twin cam 2lt EFI G200Z - Single Cam 2lt EFI (chain) or 4ZC1 2lt Single Cam EFI (belt) 4ZC1-T - Single Cam 2lt EFT Turbo That is all you will find in the Piazza. The pic I posted above shows what a 4Z series rocker cover looks like, to see a G200Z, have a look at either Defcon or My project threads.
  21. I can refer you to this: http://www.ozgemini.com/viewtopic.php?t=7932 Might help a little.
  22. It all depends on what car it's going in to. If it's a Chevette, you will most likely need to use the Piazza x-member and engine mounts. If it's a Gemini, you can use the standard x-member and gemini mounts. It's really up to you, there are many ways you can mount these engines. The turbo on it is miniture anyway, I wouldn't want to go for anything smaller than what it has, upgrade is a must!
  23. It depends on what gearbox you want to use. The 4ZC1 Piazza turbo engine will mount up to heaps of boxes: Gemini 4/5 speed, piazza 5 speed, rodeo 4/5 speeds up untill about 1993. So if you wanna chuck it in a Gemini, you can choose to either use the Gem gearbox or cut a new hole for the Piazza one. Only short coming there is that you have to slot the gearbox x-member about 20mm as the gearbox sits back a bit further. If it is the G200W twin cam, then you have to use the twin cam box, there are no other ones as the starter is on the other side. Beware these engines, even tho they are nice, 110kw N/A, the parts are hard to find and can be expensive, especially if you blow a starter or need a rebuild or what not. But yeah, you said it before, $2-300 is worth it just for the LSD (only if its the turbo model!!) and disc brakes.
  24. Right: -The conversion into a Vauxhall (I think) is easier than into a gem, you will most probably need either the piazza or a gemini X-member tho... although I can't be 100% sure on this one. NightmareRacing on http://www.retro-rides.com has just put one into his Chevette Hatch, might be a good idea to have a look at his threads. One reason I think it is easier, is because the Piazza got a remote shifter and should pop up where the Chevette one does. The engine itself it pretty easy to install, only major mod is that the dizzy hits the firewall (in a gem) so you may need to do a little bit of massaging to get that to fit. Other than that, they are 150hp and do have some pretty good potential. - Yep, as I said, the gearbox is all good should fit into the Chevette all good. - They are 8v SOHC, so I guess you could compare them to say an older Mitsi turbo lump - this doesn't mean they're a bad engine tho, many people have had excellent results from them. - The stock turbo is ok, but it runs out of puff at about 12psi. It would be a good idea to upgrade to a T28 or similar. Anything a bit bigger would do the job nicely. - I have heard different things about modding the engines, IE: will be good with the normal stuff, porting, cam, bigger plenum/injectors. But you may need to be careful with the bottom end. I can't recall ever hearing anything amazing about the pistons, but in saying that, I've never heard of any huge disappointment with them either - just depends on how far you want to go I guess. LSD will go into the Chevette, it has been done into many Opels and Vauxhalls and Geminis. People talk about cutting it down as it's a tad wider, but I think it can fit with out this, just giving you a wider track. UNLESS you happen to have stumbled across the IRS model!! SO yeah, chucking a Piazza turbo lump into a gem is a piece of piss, its been done about a million times in aussie with some good results. There were a few cars at the summer nats with them in. I'll find a pic... As you can see, I don't think he would have gone all out like that if it wasnt worth doing!! I'd say for $300 grab it fast, it'll make a Gem or a Chevette go like a rocket, even stock. Let us know how it goes, I'd love to see this conversion done in NZ.
  25. ^ That is prolly the best mitsi I have ever seen / heard of!
