I decided to take the 1100 on an overnight camping trip up to the massive city of Norsewood on the 2nd. Got all packed up and headed out of town, flying along at 70mph, lining up an overtake on a depressing Qashqai. Aaaaand the fuel pump died. Pulled the old girl over and diagnosed it was the pump, which incidentally was the only spare I wasn't carrying because it was a relatively new looking replacement. Can't fix an non-points pump up a side road sadly. Called a mate out, we fitted a generic Chinese ticker pump and all was well. I continued on my way, the speedo stopped working, oh well. The indicators stopped working, oh well. And a couple km away from my destination, plodding down a shingle road....the brakes failed. Neat! Toddled on gently, got to destination and had a looksie, fluid has boiled over in a huge way. Both front wheels are as hot as heck, right rear was warm, left was cold. Assuming a stuck pressure valve. So, Nannie will take a trailer ride home on Saturday and due to how hot the brakes got ill just replace the lot I moved her a few km up the road on the next morning and brakes had re-appeared. But even I wouldn't trust that! And the speedo came back, she's a good girl really. So, a brake rebuild and I really should throw a cooling system at her. And another SU style fuel pump. Fun times

Maybe if you can match one up at Jaycar. Otherwise Corys/Ideals etc may have them.

Just finished resto on this neat toy. Belongs to the boss' wife. She had one many moons ago and it was a nostalgic birthday present. Wasn't meant to be a resto, but due to it being a bit of a shed queen it needed a complete strip down. Turns out it had a cracked frame, because early Honda alloy frame stuff. Local bike shop was meant to put it on the road on behalf of the seller, it was legal to ride but was a pile of shit on the road, forks were "rebuilt" wrong, carbs were rebuilt wrong and way out of sync etcetc

Would be my guess too. Not sure how much knuckle juice I've left under FSDE manifolds by now Coil pack and lead failures isn't uncommon on them either

The part is a Bosch T0068 relay, 7 pin tachometric jobbie. Common to a lot of fairy early injected cars and only needs an analog/old fashioned coil signal

I use a Strata mig at work. Has a duty cycle of one gecko shart. Is okay on medium duty work but still overheats much faster than you would expect.

Check/measure injector leak off/return Check injector seat for leaking. Most likely seats, but easy/fast to do a leak off/return volume test first

You can put some of the 1st gen ravs transfer in to neutral from underneath too

Popped the ignition barrel out and gave it the trusty gentle screw driver. Pump the wind up kick start, grab the brake lever and it's a runner! Perfection

So I accidentally did this. It's beautiful. I've been trying to find a C50 or C90 to do stupid trips on, this is not that. My life is almost complete

Today I learned.

Should be vented front and solid rear, only the SOHC E36s ran solid fronts. They're becoming quite a decent looking car for the money, and they're not as diabolical in terms of reliability as people say.

Did some Barry stuff. Got to have pictures of some of the cars in the shed to remind the wife of why I'm such a catch

Horn fixed. It seems like some nameless small handed weapon has moved the indicator cluster away from the slip ring, so no sparkling on the beepbeep bits was happening.

HEL probably do a set at a decent price. Otherwise just go standard rubber stuff from your favorite parts shop. A lot of the cheap generic (imported by a slightly generic bald bloke who drives a Navara and has his voting preferences as the main part of his very masculine personality, probably) are best avoided, have seen quite a few fail at the crimps

Turns out the washer pump just needed bleeding. And then once it got head (haha) it shagged all the 56 year old hoses. Popped down to local supplier and have replaced all the hose now, happy days. Sorted the rattles in the driver's door, turns out everything was loose.

Got the old girl back out the shed to prep for next wof Cleaned up the surface rust on the rear boot floor seam Washer fluid manual pump jobbie has decided it is no longer a functioning part of this family. Have to check and adjust the brakes, last time we took it out it must have been casually dragging a shoe and boiled the fluid, that was super neat. Needs a cooling system birthday desperately Have a friend who will sort the upholstery issues, should probably throw a new carpet set in too, original carpets are rooted Looking forward to putting it back in to town duties, the wee fella loves it to bits. Has been sitting in the shed for yonks next to the MX5 which also never gets used, sigh. Some winter picnics will toughen the 2 year old up... Trying to find an original map holder, interior light lens and a bonnet badge without any luck

I've done a couple mk2s like that, they are authority card cars though. Mounting plate has to be a certain size and I think 3mm, rails need to be a minimum of "x" dimensions too. All pretty straight forward You also want crush tubes obviously, and the last guy I worked with wanted an example of the tubes I used

I've got a set of flat bars if you want em, took them off my GT125 because I'm boring
