  1. sure sorry. Do I need longer wheel lug bolts ?? Whats the measure of good or no good.
  2. I'v got a i'm hoping easy question. I'v switched my rims over from steelies to old school alloys. In doing so i'v noticed the alloy rims are far thicker than the steel rims so the wheel lugs don't poke threw as much. Whats the good oil on how far a wheel nut or lug needs to go in.. Iv got 14mm wheel lugs and they poke threw the alloys exactly 14mm too... So in my mind the 14mm stud is biting in as much as the width of the lug. lugs are VW bug 14mm x 1.5mm lugs not nuts Or.... should I be counting turns..... like they need to do up at least 7 full turns... ? just want to make sure im not as risk of over stressing the lugs and threads./ wheel falls off.
  3. I worked for Holden in ozz we had the Saab franchise as well. I did a clutch on on. Would be a ok job with all the service tools but had nothing. But the whole North South backwards engine thing is a real ball ache. Actually I think I just slipped a new friction plate in and called it quits. Because the gearbox would not move enough and the customer didn't want to pay to have the engine out. Still not real sure how it all works.
  4. I did my time with Holden I am bias. But I really do think these coils are good. x1 coil per plug is pritty sweet. LS1 coils are shit hot and to be honest not that much more work than running 1 coil. and inbuilt ignitor.
  5. right. Thanks for that. It just sounds so logical to do it with a timing light.
  6. Hey Alex. Hope your well mate. Could you help me with a question? Iv always wondered with crank triggers how do you dial the crank reluctor and sensor in spot on? To run a coil pack set up or injectors for that matter. I understand the concept but lets assume that nothing in the world is perfect and you engineer a bracket that makes the sensor sit 1/2 a degree out from TDC. To get things dead on is there a calabration or a offset in the software to correct this ? Hope that makes sense. cheers Scott.
  7. Hey mate @yetchh Me and the old man just bought a old shitta in Patons Rock. (G bay) 800 squars.... but it's just a concrete water tank and a 2 room tin shack old batch. ah well I know what i'm doing this summer.
  8. @yoeddynz or get me your injectors and i'll make a latency table up and characterise your injectors. Then it will be bang on.
  9. hows injector dead time ? was that set up with air fuels ? I can dig you up some how too stuff if your into it..
  10. You'l go ok mate. just go careful. There is nothing that is not online with calisturbo. PM me if you get stuck... VL was a lovely period of Fuel injection.
  11. I did my apprenticeship on VT onward at a Holden Dealer. If you get stuck with something id love to pretend I know everything. chur Scott.
  12. be careful when your rooting around with regs. I'v been caught out before with boost referenced regs that are not your standard 1:1 rising rate. It stuffs everything up so bad and it takes a age to work out how things got so messed up. Fuel table with impossible non linear lines.
  13. shame they would not polish/grind the crank and use thicker bearings? does the crank have a coating ?
  14. @moparmuppet I could be keen. unsure if i'll make it this Thurs... under said thumb a bit since weekend.
  15. @ThePog this is the 6BT sitting in a patrol.... but they go into a 80 series too. 800 nm on a 12v stock. guys in the states compound turbo them. tuff as nails. Way cheaper and lots about in our market unlike the new v8 cruiser big dollar nightmare engine.
