  1. Done 1000 km since and doesn't appear to have consumed any more oil. Aliens?

    CNC rates

I had to model some brake caliper spacers the other day at work in solidworks. Chucked them over to the cnc computer and it came up with all the tool paths and tools by itself, was quite amazed. Was pretty effortless as we found some aluminium that was the correct thickness initially.
  3. It probably just wants a good thrashing. Drive it up to Auckland
  4. Can't see any blue smoke coming out so I'm guessing you're probably right about the fuel contaminating it and then boiling off. (Did about 1500 km of pure stop-start city driving since oil change). I need to sleep. :/ On the road for like 18 hour, 2 hours of sleep and then milked the cows and then spent all day getting rejected from every workshop I could find.
  5. Drove this up to Auckland yesterday. Had a great adventure, burger king somehow screwed up my order and gave me three massive burgers for free. Went through a massive snow storm on the desert road. Checked my oil this morning and it looks like it has gone down to half on the dip stick Car has never used oil before.
  6. Should do, (older) tachos run off the coil. My tacho kept working when I put an electronic distributor in.
  7. I'm out until February, will probably tag along to an auckland meet or something.
  8. Should have just ground/polished that writing off before going for cert.
  9. I'll be back in Auckland by middle of the month, will be looking for workshop work for the summer. If I can't find anything in Pukekohe/Waiuku I might see about this. (Not sure if this would class as engineering work experience)
  10. Silly question, but are you running non standard injectors?
  11. Screw getting rid of the cabin, make it the playboy mansion of the seas.
  12. Gets a boat, first thing he changes are the tyres.
  13. Looks like the water almost protected the bottom end by pushing the oil up.
  14. Pump it into the cylinder when you have the head on, it will force the piston down.
  15. Glen never lies. Except sometimes on Tuesdays.
  16. I reckon I could get it running in the space of one weekend. It would run like shit, smoke like hell and probably have pistons made of old fence posts (apparently has been done by someone before....) and bearings made from my belt.
  17. I'm keen for a free burger. Can I bring my flatmates? You have 3 months to get it running.
