  1. guy at my work can do LPG wof's not sure weather his ticket is still current or not
  2. with everything else looking nice and tidy on the engine i would recommend getting those throttle bodies vapour blasted hit up this guy @Mr VapourMr Va@
  3. oh no looks like you will have to stockup large on welding wire and gas. such a sweet ute just a shame about that hidden rust. although i would suggest getting the cab removed and getting sand blasted or acid dipped.
  4. This is one of the members off here build thread for his car take a bit of a look. I also just went and had a look at ebay and there is lowering springs available. you just need to search them by what they are called on this side of the world
  5. please don't tell me you are going to hack up that nice original tan interior. it does look rather mint.
  6. cheers I did look at doing that but the wheel would require the the current holes being slotted or new ones drilled on the wheel and some holes onto the bosskit and threaded. then the wheel cover which holds the horn in place would require the same work but some of the current holes overlap eachother. could work though. but the boss kit for the wheel is also shorter too which is good as the current wheel and boss combo sit quite close to you even with the seat right back and the seat on a G lean. ^^ this is the wheels boss kit and how it would of been suited for the car. also this is a well made barry spec boss too so all that would need to be done is the current holden spline to be cut and removed. and a starlet one to be welded in its place. looks like a easy option to me. or get a different wheel
  7. I guess now you got to blast all the rest of the shit on the motor otherwise its just going to look like dogs balls
  8. Im also on the lookout for a standard starlet steering wheel As i have this wheel but doesnt match the boss kit pattern but the wheel came with a boss kit to suit the wheel but not the car as you can see in the RH corner. so i am needing the standard spline to be cut off a factory wheel to then be put onto the wheels boss kit
  9. progress is been slow on this thing but it hasn't stop me from buying more shit for it. More door patch panels to be done cut him out while making the patch panel i applied some rust kill to the below surface this was a way i found to made a radius which worked okay then welded in it note my welding isnt the best but also doesn't help when you leave the gas turned off gave it a bit of a clean up I then made this bit here to be welded in to the bottom edge of the door vice gripped it in place for welding Now with that bit now done i applied some phosphate coating over the patch to prevent it from rusting.
  10. while cranking get a testlight and hook up to battery and place into one of the injector plugs this will tell you if you have an injector pulse or not
  11. Can go and have a look at them if you haven't already found someone
  12. soo with the exhaust and rust done the next thing on the job was the tyres which started with 4 new kumho's got some mad camber going on And while i did the tires A magic wof inspection sheet and label appeared on my dash nothing was wrong i guess... so with a wof and rego now she gets used a bit Not just a show pony mayte 1 ton load of topsoil still pulls hard for what it is probably because the trailer is the same year as the car with the same color combo
  13. @Evan and @sentra will we be expecting yous at 7am at the bp?
  14. Mayte I should have all those parts and could bring them with me to nats?
  15. This project is coming along very quick your work is looking very impressive would also recommend just rebuilding current engine as parts are cheap vs getting another tired k series and please tell me you are getting rid of that big ugly alloy radiator too looking forward to the upcoming updates
  16. Mayte That radio is a pine and a half while the perfection circle is going on in the background
  17. I had some small banter with one of the officers as incoming calls came in for them. He asked me who organised this meet etc so i told him it was a monthly club event done the same week every month and encouraged him to go and check out the forums. I figured a GC officer could do good for the club

  21. So with the rust and the Assembly done the next job would be a wof right? nah mate drove it a few times to work and back with no wof etc Then decided i would do a thing that i had needing to do on it for awhile which is a good wax and general tidy up of the paint so i spent one night did that then another night i went through and buffed all the windows of most of its water spotting etc. And then shit hit the fan.... it started miss firing on take offs knew it was the dizzy cap as i had never replaced it and have clean it up a few times too dropped the cap and rotor off at Bnt so they can get me a new one and they give me an old piston mazda 323 cap and rotor to try as they looked close gave the cap and rotor a go and what do you know now constant misfire took rotor out as someone previously had tried it on their car and fucked the metal retaining tabs tried out old rotor and new cap and no more misfire so went back to Bnt too pay for the parts and... NAH BRO THEIR FREE THEY WERE GOING IN THE BIN ANYWAY. Like what? YEAH BRO WE GOT THEM IN AS THEY WERE LISTED FOR OLD SCHOOL MAZDA PISTON ENGINE AND THEIR WRONG. AND PLUS THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN TRIED ON A VEHICLE AND BEEN WRITTEN OFF. YEEEEEAH FREE PARTS!. Then drove it to work another day after this misfire was sorted and then drive it home after work and notice the exhaust tone is abit louder so have a quick look underneath and can feel a leak pop in back in the shed and place it on some axle stands and find this The whole exhaust on this thing is getting abit past its used by date now... second bit ive had to patch up now got the old man on the welder again to patch it up done and made a new exhaust gasket too as old one was fucked and some newish bolts too as old ones were rusty n shit. yeeeeah
  22. i think you will find is that the rubber piece on the crank pulley has broken away and has slipped causing your timing backshit out. I wouldnt imagine it being too hard sourcing one for this either happens from time to time on Japanese cars
  23. cheers mate ive done heaps of other work on this too just haven't bothered taking pics and updating the build thread nah im waiting for a member off here to build a wooden frame around it so it can then be freighted to Auckland as its in Christchurch. also chuck up a build thread of yours too mate
