  1. SOLD it today , am happy to answer the best I can if anyone's interested
  2. Finding time to finish is the problem , but am thinking probably best to have it roadworthy to get more interest . If she doesn't sell this time , I'll have to get off my proverbial !
  3. Unscrew the oil filter put ya thumb over the the inlet hole and turn her over till the oil comes out the outlet . ( disconnect the coil)
  4. http://imageshack.com/i/kn64HUKFj I had ideas of doing the V6 swap befor my son had this slight altercation on the Wellington motorway
  5. Great stereo install mate , there's a link on here referring to using a V6 mazda motor in these that fits with not too much work . I'd post it but admin got grumpy for some reason and locked it //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/42130-fail-on-restricted-with-out-even-driving/ have a read thru and look at the autospeed link the car looks just like yours but re powered with the V6 Again your stereo work looks great
  6. I got an old temp sender and removed the guts and just glued the sensor into it. I did find on eBay a sensor with a thread that matches the controller one but has a thread . It was only $5 . I didn't use it as the thread turned out to be an odd size , you're welcome to it f you want it
  7. Yeah ,I'm using the same controller on my Pajero . http://imageshack.com/i/10jxt9j
  8. The auto speed controller is great , it doesn't say in the instructions but it holds the settings when powered off .
  9. Sorry , yep Wellington , but already looks like I have a buyer
  10. Gonna put the car on TM for $450 buy now for a week from Saturday then it'll be off to the wreckers if there's no interest , anyone interested pm me before Saturday .
  11. Yeah , I found a few conflicting write ups , I think at low speed a broken belt is okay , but the wife was on the motorway so I reckon it's toast
  12. Our 99 Galant broke its cambelt the other day . Installed a new one , but I'm thinking there's a bent valve or even piston damage , has the miss from hell now, The motor is a 4G63 ( I think ) SOHC , not sure weather it's non interference or not . So she's going on TM , goodlittle car , WOF , reg , good tyres . Be good to know if it's an easy fix , so any potential owner can make an informed decision
  13. How about thinking outside the square and put a 1UZ V8 in . They are cheap engines and can take a hammering
  14. Haha not this leak , it's like jedd clampett discovering black gold !!
  15. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=paBcp4Cif7Y&feature=em-upload_owner Well a few jobs done , motor running a lot quieter now power-steer is much more quieter . Thin a wee bit of oil and it'll be fine . Fuel pressure and vacuum pressure gauges fitted . Still have an oil leak , will have to remove the oil filter adaptor and check everything out.
  16. Just be sure your wire is resistant to the poly , House wire reacts to it . By the looks of your wire it looks to be a different insulation , so should be fine
  17. If the power board are happy with where the meter is . You can run a cable 600 mm underground from the meter to your shed. (Much cheaper to)
  18. Did some work on the exhaust ,welding is a little hard when you don't know how!! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=T-lxn0srv6c
  19. Thankfully you didn't want Walters car now that would be very "Bad"
  20. another 1UZ .......you know you want to
  21. Still pottering away, brakes were playing hard to get , turns out the vacuum pipe was the wrong way round ! The pedal has a bit of travel but they work. Have loaned a mig welder so wil try my hand at making the exhaust up .
  22. http://www.autolign.co.nz/profile/website/view?accountId=14950 This crowd might help . I've used them here in Welly , you can buy what you need as they have a selection of sizes
  23. It'll be interesting to hear that exhaust when done , I'm still tryin to work out one that'll sound like V8 but not to bloody noisy
  24. Quietened the fuel pump down a bit with a better mounting kit. Also mounted the filter along side instead of the engine bay. Sorry no pics , cos you cant see it. will put some sound deadening stuff in the back , then should be fine.
