  1. Piazzanoob you own a piazza right? Pretty sure castlemain rod shop do a Chev into Gemini kit to surely this could be of use to You?
  2. Dude at my work did rings bearings and 30 over pistons in his holden 308 including machine work big cam regrind too for under 1500 bucks.
  3. OK project is taking a detour I've finally convinced a mate to sell me his 2.5 Wagon only took 15 years it needs a lot of work but I have a hoard of parts to make it happen. V8 race seats all moving over to it should offend a lot of purists.
  4. Was watching the sequel to once were warriors the other night 99% sure your car was one of the black snakes gang rides. Had a different movie spec paint job But unmistakable Imo.
  5. Will be a split folding rear seat so entry should be as easy as the donor car. Then there is the v8 and brakes. ..... can you recommend a certifier in Auckland?
  6. Hey finally tracked down a triumph Wagon for a family friendly cruiser. Top of list is an extra 2 seats in cargo area out back as I have 4 kids. What's is the go there regarding seat belts and mounting the seat? Will most likely use a honda odyssey rear seat trimmed to match car. Seat belts should reach rear pillar easy and floor so 3 point belts will work.
  7. It'll kick off once I've sorted a new house at moment I have the parts at home the car stashed. Getting Scratchy Waiting To Rip Into It just waiting For Old Car To be picked up too.
  8. hey dude if you decide to use 3.5" on the exhaust just be aware you will lose a heap of ground clearance and 3.5" mufflers are expensive and usually hard to find. Twin 2.5 inch thru middle of car works good with last two bends in 3.5 inch to a edelbrock muffler at back is cost effective and sounds very meaty. Ran this exact system on my 300zx cost me 350 bucks all up. Was a few years back.
  9. Had my suspicions about stud pattern of corvette rims not been metric it was 10 years ago I had Em and don't think I ever had to pull them off the vk either. Nice looking wheel I think will suit the triumph quite well and also be a nod to the gm drivetrain I'll be running. a live axle rear end could work as mucking around with anything independent will be tricky And expensive.
  10. Cool that's the kind of info I wanted. the back I knew would be harder a different upgrade would be good a hydratrak commodore ass end would be good but to wide I think.
  11. Hey guys due to my latest project involving my 2 deep seated pines triumph cars and holden running gear I'm looking at ways of grafting holden hubs up front preferably with vt or similar brakes and somehow getting 5x120 stud pattern out back too. Plan is to run corvette rims like I had on my Brock replica vk. Got running gear now and after 17 years have got the wagon shell I wanted too off a mate just the coming together bit To do. hoping one of you may have a bearing swap idea etc that would allow a hub swap to be done. Back is no doubt harder than front.
  12. Be a shame not to have that bumper nickel plated to show off the fact it's steel.
  13. Future reference guys for rust repair in ass end you can use Mk1 saloon for rust cuts from a early one with same boot floor. I know of a Wagon up here in Auckland that may be getting cut up too I'm just unsure whether to beg owner to let me save it.
  14. Please build a stag with 1gzfe V12. I went from a 300zx to a triumph then a 924. Yup triumph back in garage again......
  15. Turbo Is a Garret GT2056V A/R45 Cold side A/R 0.64 Hot side $250 if your keen. no play just a bit of shelf dust.
  16. 4 stage auto with a shift kit and a b&m shifter are awesome fun my v6 vk was such a handful you needed both hands on wheel anyway. A turbo starfire though has quirky appeal front mount a toyota blower too and go for a big turbo mounted under the factory radiator shroud could be a real sleeper.
  17. Got a near new turbo sitting on shelf here that may be ideal bought to turbo my 2 litre triumph engine it's from a diesel vw touareg internal wastegate To will keep plumbing simple. Had a few holdens myself a star fire vk and another I dropped a vn v6 into which is another option you could look at too a v6 vk with a big single turbo isn't common yet...... or expensive to build.
  18. I had a Bonneville a while back with very similar rake and frame style. Was twitchy as Fuck at traffic speed and got quite tiring wide bars helped tame it a bit. If your able to pull it back now you will enjoy the bike more. I got fed up with my chopper and swapped it for a 300zx in end As it kept trying to kill me.
  19. Many moons ago I owned a 1100. I was 9 actually my dad thought it was a good way of getting out of the 6pm milk and bread run. With a bit of thought and some correct valves and you could re jig the system. I'd Roll With A Pressure Vessel Full Of Spastic Fluid Small Keg Fire Extinguisher Etc To Drop The Car Dump Pressure From Tank And Open The Valves To Raise Pressurize Tank With Air Then open valves again. At desired height shut valves and dump tank pressure again. 5 valves some creative metal line work and a bit of wiring..... Do it...
  20. I'm going to risk mass ridicule here and say the new wheels look Awesome but reckon the front could come up to match the back I have a thing about the wheels following the guards if they are all up in there shit just looks broken to me.
  21. Next time you change a diff hit me up I know a shortcut. 30 minutes roadside ! My mk1 killed 2 a month for years.
  22. Shit Just Arrived at the observation my Holden v8 conversion has passed the point of no return. all factory mounts are gone holden mounts are reaching out to their now new cast iron missing family members...... oh and i bought a full triumph driveline to get the car running again too a guy off trademe will be here for that at 8pm. sweet garage is looking bare now as the parts are all in the car.
  23. That pic was on the way back out as I had to move my lifting strap. Drivers engine mount will need to be changed for something more compact so I can run the triumph power steering pump maybe one of those poly bush types would work?
  24. Todays my birthday so taken a day off to dick around in garage. For a trial fit I reckon its going well will need a HQ sump which I've sorted and maybe a few pipes shuffled on headers it actually has a heap of room around it and yes the the trans is still on the engine too and bloody fits the tunnel ! I've rolled it around the garage to check the height it'll sit at and it appears 5 or so mm higher than when I had the triumph motor in.
  25. With regards to exhaust I want to run a flowmaster exiting under the drivers door under normal conditions it will be capped and a quiet exhaust will be used running off the back of it. Is this OK? I love a bit of noise and free flow at the track but on the street I'd rather hear the radio. Will be certified for the V8 so don't want to build it then have to chop it off.
