  1. I just got some 2200cc injectors from these guys (9A build) https://www.aftermarketindustries.com.au/bosch-2200cc Are 1000cc enough for what you are after? Where did you source the r35 coils from I am keen for 8 of them (1 set for my 9a and one for my next speeduino build)
  2. Also In Melbourne but have nothing hugely fun or cool here Mrs has a 2019 Corolla as a work car, I normally Daily Ride my Honda Cbr500r We also have a 2013 MY14 Subaru liberty wagon that is completely stock and only gets used to move the dog around or to pick things up in (really needs a towbar) but is the boring FB25 CVT version. Though its only broken down on me once due to dodgy fuel pump wiring overheating which I am currently awaiting to be recalled.
  3. Have brought the cheap ones from China and have had 0 issues https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MAC-ECU-3-Port-Electronic-Boost-Control-Solenoid-Valve-35A-AAA-DDAA-1BA-PWM/123364195550?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DC12V-5-4W-35A-ACA-DDBA-1BA-3-Port-Electronic-Boost-Control-Solenoid-Valve-AU/123621678198?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57927%26meid%3D71f8dc7732dd4be88cba68a3e5b22914%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D123364195550%26itm%3D123621678198%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 Could not tell the difference between it and ones from other sources
  4. It could be maybe I am getting my terminology out of wack its Friday and I am a couple of beers in Just curious and hoping that something off the shelf will work for you as 1500 for forged pistons isn't cheap
  5. Factory 2ARFE pistons might work as they are 90mm Factory compression ratio is 10.4:1 2ARFE Head 50cc Pins 22mm Rods 157.5mm Comp height 34.8mm Think the dome is -10cc from memory and can't remember the pin height (also no idea what 18r pistons pin height is) Would need to see how they compare but heaps of wrecks around with them so can be found cheap and stock 2ARFE seem to handle 350whp Wouldn't be hard to work out what comp you would get in the 18R if you know the headgasket thickness and combustion chamber size of the head, if the rods are shorter then youll lose some compression but that wouldn't be a bad thing anyway :p Not sure if this is helpful or not
  6. You need to make sure you get brackets to suit the calipers as r32 are different to R32 GTR, R33 and R34 R32GTR and R33 are the same R34 sit higher as they are for a larger rotor and then brembos are different again https://au.gktech.com/products/brakes/brake-adapters but thankfully they are avilable You can find caliper identification info online fairly easy
  7. Can run the BA falcon disc (325x32mm) Height is 45.3mm so might need to space it up to the 54mm height of the stock skyline rotor Align the center bore as its 71.5mm vs the Nissan 68mm Brake caliper brackets to suit Think its DBA 42104 from memory Or you can go for 370z front rotors DBA 2314 354x32mm 49.5mm height so may need a spacer depending on how it sits Brake caliper brackets to suit Both of these options suit the 4pots you have and can be used with wilwood or Brembo etc upgrades later
  8. Ordered some more parts for my Speedunio (have sold the car it was going into however) also got myself an 8x8 3.5 Teensy setup for sub 300AUD so now have two budget ecus for future projects Going to Japan on Thursday and once I get back will be putting money into my project car thats still in NZ. Will look around for a cheap hack to play with as well haha
  9. If he didn't get done for failure to stop and arrested I would be very pissed off
  10. Case Map sensor Arduino Mega 2560 GM air temp sensor with Pigtail Speedunino Component kit Speedunino V0.4 PCB $272.56Aud I have a wideband that I got a few years back for my track car (which is still being built in NZ) and I had a soldering setup plus other tools already Could have probably got the components cheaper if I shopped around but got them via the speedunio store as I like supporting it Still pretty cheap
  11. Speeduino now built with a VR conditioner, waiting on my bluetooth module to arrive, will probably order a 2nd kit later on and build one with a teensy 3.5 but see how I go Havent soldered in 10years so not the most tidy job and have managed to keep my ocd at bay by not making it perfect as it works Had a LED 5,6,7 on when I powered it up but discovered it was an issue with the tune I had loaded onto it The car its going into is being borrowed by a friend as his V5 STI got stolen, however he has expressed that he may be interested in buying it so may end up buying another project for it to go into :p
  12. Waiting on a speeduino v0.4 diy kit to turn up, will be putting that together and possibly putting it into an 02 Impreza with the Ej201 engine will keep you all updated
  13. Forgot to take pictures but new fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator is now installed Took me last night and this morning as the aftermarket filter seats the fuel reg differently and I wasn't holding fuel pressure Car now starts first turn of the key
  14. Injectors are installed and the difference is like day and night, low and mid-range power seems to be up and she no longer drops to 5cylinders However fixing this has now made another problem worse When I first brought the car its always taken a few cranks to fire up, since the new injectors have been installed and I cleaned out the fuel rail and re-primed the fuel system its gotten worse Discovered that the IS200 doesn't prime the pump and only gives it voltage when you start to crank Pretty sure my in-tank regulator is leaking fuel back into the tank Will buy a new reg and see if that fixes the issue
  15. So moving closer to work this weekend (10-15mins on the motorbike instead of upto an hour(90km each way)) 15mins walk to the train station for the GF so while I am hunting to buy a wagon for next snow season the Lexus will get some more love. New injectors should hopefully arrive Friday and after Xmas I'll be buying an AC/DC Tig to go with the mig that a mate is going to be storing in my garage (will also get some other tools). All going well next pay ill get some 2.25" mild steel pipe to replace the precats with as I suspect they are blocked, probably get everything to make a 3" mild steel exhaust as well for when I manage to collect all the bits to turbo her.
  16. So been lurking awhile and thought I should finally post something, have been motivated by @NicT and his Altezza thread Haven't owned an oldschool car in awhile (though I briefly had an AE71 before I got this, slant front wish I had kept it but GF wouldnt drive it ) Have been living in Australia for 4.5years and as my AE111 is still being built in NZ I don't have much to tinker with About 2years ago I kicked my GF up the ass and put the hard word down that she had to get her Licence as I was sick of driving her everywhere. Also as about 12months ago we moved to urban fringe (regional vic) her not being able to drive would be a large problem. So I went out an picked up a stock as a rock Lexus IS200 with full service history (had even had all the valve clearances done before I brought it), my main reasoning was that it was slow (soooooo slow) and handled ok meaning that I could have some fun and maybe drop a 2j from an IS300 with a manual box in the future. Really wishing I could get the electronic throttle body to p**s the f**k off Gf has learnt to drive in it and a friend of mine briefly dailyed if for 6months For the last 2years it has cost me nothing minus the odd old change and has been pretty reliable, delivering 9.8-10L/100km on e10 fuel Also its been dinged and pranged a few times by the GF (Dented fender, scraps on both bumpers, hole in the rear taillight, scraps around the rear guards) However as it starts to approach the 300000km mark (sits at 286k atm) problems have started to appear (running on 5cylinders intermittently being the main one) and I am looking to replace it with something newer. However until I get a new car (no rush as I am moving back into the city) I want to keep it going as long as I can, also as I doubt ill be able to sell it or even get some decent trade in value I am looking to do some minor mods and once the rego runs out do some club events and track days In the last 3months ASIC disabled (Yay for better induction) New air filter New Oil filter New oil New copper plugs Copper plugs gaped to .8mm (due to the miss starting) This week New coil packs New Iridium spark plugs Fresh MT90 in the gearbox and diff (as the gearbox crunches now and then) And I have new 12hole injectors to replace the factory 4hole ones on the way from overseas (1nzfe) From the Gf's last crash one of the front control arms bushing has torn so will look into replacing all the bushings as well Rear tyres are 2mm off the wear indicators Front tyres are 5mm off the wear indicators Rear main seal is leaking so that will be a fun job, may look into changing to a single mass flywheel and stronger clutch at the same time Will be getting new tyres soon Future plans if I end up tracking it are Strip the interior Weld the diff Spare set of factory rims with slicks Boost? 3" mild steel exhaust If the budget stretches LS400 Brakes/rotors Coilovers Bracing Will post some pics over the weekend, 1gfe's are pretty cheap over here if it blows up Factory ecu with a TD04 from a Subaru should happily do 5-7psi with a fuel cut defender, I may get an aftermarket ecu (patch loom) if I can justify it (which can go onto the ae111 later) Pretty sure id be lucky to have 80kwatw so not aiming for huge numbers as the rods tend to be the weak point Updates may be slow
  17. Perhaps a front spoiler to help pull the front wheels down to gain more front end grip? Also the extra track would have changed your turning point so maybe you just need to get used to that?
  18. So Im moving to Melbourne next month and have been looking at getting a classic Toyota Specificly a MS55 crown sedan (so sexy (however sheepers MS51 is hot) Ive come from Macpherson and live axle diffs (only dealing with double wishbone is the front of an r32 skyline) So from what I can tell the MS55 has double wishbone suspension at the front And 4 Link rear with springs on the solid axle and shocks seperate ? Now coming from Mac struts ive been spoilt and can buy coilovers off the rack for the application With the crown its alittle harder So im going to want to lower it Safely and I want to be able to adjust the height depending on the wheels Im running (adjustable dampner settings would be a bonus) (car will get mod plated) So at the front the bottom of the shock bolts onto the bottom arm which the spring also perchs on and then the top arm bolts to the top of the shock and the spring pushes against it? so if I want to go say 30mm lower do I need to reduce the max extension of the shock by 30mm? and reduce the spring height? I mean if I remove the factory setup can I run a short shock with the spring incorporated onto it? with an adjustable shock body to control height ? And for the rear can I do the same and remove the springs off the diff ? probably really explaining this badly Was thinking 6kg spring rates at the front and 4kg at the rear with a street style shock valving to match
  19. You could polish the crank if you get bored, Just make sure you get everything balenced
  20. Coils standard nissan issue try coating them with insulation tape etc and regapping plugs to 0.8mm
  21. add a bolt under the bolt that holds the top hop of the shock on (used this on my skyline to make springs captive when the shocks were farked) should give you abit more clearence
  22. Hey I have a rebuilt shimmed up lsd diff from a r32 sitting in my garage its setup for non turbo cups and 4bolt backing plate not sure if it would fit anything u have but let me know
  23. All the heavy duty clutchs Ive had be it kevlor full face organic or even puck clutchs they take 1000km to wear in take it up through the revs stay away from redline lots of start stop traffic etc dont slip it to much and also you should only ever get clutch smell once when you start
