  13. Thats very ugly, I am sure you could do something better than that, dose the gearbox you have have the shifter rods running down the side or dose it shift through rods inside the tail shaft?
  14. I use them a cople times, got a few off trade me, they were mostley unsuccessful, parts needed to be super clean, you would need an oxy acetylene set at minimum. I did fill a hole in an intake manafold witch seemed to work, but welding cracks and stuff I couldn't get it to work, would just turn black and wouldn't stick
  15. Some of those cheep air ones run the compressor down real fast
  16. I had my 2000 shit the bottom end from high revs, then bend a valve from more high revs, those engines can hammer away with bad bearings for years. is the oil pump not up to the job?

The problem this engine has a bit of crap in it, I was worryed about it all coming loose, I did clean as much out as possable. fuchs do an oil for lawnmowers witch is about $19 for 4 leters. The 2nd motor I am putting togeather I will run modern oil as it will have a full flow filter and everything in new and clean,

    non detergent oil

I have droped the sump and scooped all the thick black shit out, I have an oil filter on this car but its not a full flow filter, it just bleeds off a very small amount of oil and that goes thrugh the filter and back to the sump. Would B&S oil be ok to use in a car? its a side vlave v8
  21. Where would one obtain a non detergent monograde engine oil now days for old sidevalve engines in cars that have have no oil filtration systems, and have a sludge build up? someone recommended briggs and stratton oil but I think thats more for air coold lawnmoer motors,
