Guypie Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 I might have some new spokes in the right length. Let me know how long they are and I can probably hook you up. Quote
Guypie Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 They are there if you want them. Just pm me your address and how many you need. 2 2 Quote

tortron Posted September 7, 2023 Author Posted September 7, 2023 Here's a twin tube version I thought the twin tube ones were bigger, but this looks the same size if not smaller. Possibly it's that the seat is actually an adults one https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/antiques-collectables/coins/new-zealand-pre-decimal/collections/listing/4307746259?cc=61&pid=2067400817&hbc=24&ct=image&tm=email&et=61&mt=DEC3FABC-AB8C-4119-8FA0-B206A40E13F0 I wouldn't mind another to make a trailer out of, Warkworth is a bit far tho 3 Quote

tortron Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Bought another trike Probably a triang, tuff? Or some variant of that Very well used, front tyre and spokes are stuffed. So good candidate for a trailer 3 Quote
tortron Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Will do some reshaping to the rimu drawbar once the glue sets, and make some kind of hook set up. I have an eye bolt mounted to the back of the trike. Also painted the tray, will probably rivet it on using the original brackets. Painted the white part just before it ruined heavily, so it's not very nice. Oops. Might line it with some wood or something nice rather than paint again 3 Quote
tortron Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Threw some brass and beeswax on the drawbar. Put some big brass screws through the 2 sections, I knew I was saving those for something. I think it looks suitably vintage 8 Quote
tortron Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Used a D shackle and a pin from a door hinge out of a 1930s bungalow. Will attach it with a bit of sink plug chain or something sonic doesn't get lost 4 Quote

If you want it you can have it I think you will find one, I have seen quite a few old triangs come up. Quote
clarkey Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Hi "torton". Great looking resto mate, always a neat feeling when putting it all back together aye. I'm also restoring a 'Flyer' tricycle for my dearly beloved. It has the Brown and Brown (Waihi) LTD sticker under the tray. There is also a sticker on the front of the frame, can just make out the word flyer. Question, do you know if it's possible to get a copy of this sticker? Or even a photo of original one that I can get redone. Cheers Clarkey Quote
tortron Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 Mine didn't have much of one left either. The early ones seem to have had a brass badge I don't seem to have any of any decal versions in my reference folder, but i am sure i have seen a half decent one somewhere. Your best bet may be the PYE museum in Waihi, as Mr Akrad was heavily involved with radios as well, they have a few trikes on display Quote
