Can someone tell me what the slot is for on the shifter linkage on a42dl trans? That's the original shifter too. I'm going to make a complicated series of linkages to translate it to the cab. @sheepers??

its for adjustment.

the is a special T bolt that goes through the end of the shifter and clamps that lever to it, its got a shoulder on it so the lever arm clamps to the shifter but it can still pivot.

I feel like I've brought U-bends from NP Steel Supplies in the past, but I can't quite remember if thats where I got them.

I did the exhaust on dads mustang out of whatever it was that I brought and had no issues with oval bends.

Does it make much difference if the pipe is oval as long as the cross-sectional area remains the same?

It's just a bit ugly and also prob some reversion. As well as I didn't have enough length anyway so need to get more, may as well get quality!

Hey Mate great project you got going on there love the idea!! Just a cheeky question for you. I have one of those little Hemi's sitting in my garage collecting dust one day i want to fire it up. Question: would you be able to share with me your wiring and ignition setup? engines complete with original dizzy except everything coil, ignition module and loom missing if you know what i mean. If you could help with a diagram and some part info would be appreciated... Anyway Happy 2025 and hope you get ya project up and running soon mate...👍

Thanks mate. Check out the sketch/pic attached. I've used a generic chev hei module, think you can pick them up for around $50. The module also runs a shielded wire which just needs to be grounded, it should all make sense when you do it. Also needs to be bolted to a heat sink. One thing we found was the pickup inside the dizzy needs to be close otherwise it won't register and you will get intermittent spark. Any questions let me know, good luck.

So I'm tidying some details. Fiddly jobs to distract from actual jobs. Wondering if anyone has any intel on mounting the HEI ignition unit. The wiring from the dizzy is pretty short which leaves limited options for mounting. These things need to sit on a heat sink if sorts but I'm wondering if it's gonna get too hot if I'm mounting it somewhere on the engine, which is kinda the easiest and most obvious option. Appreciate any thoughts here. Chur.

I think I would mount it off the engine. Pretty sure that's what the auto sparky did on the Tiger when I first bought it and it wouldn't run. There is a silicon that you use under the unit as well.
