Yowzer Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 I've done that with graphics cards a few times. Might give an ECU a go one day and see what happens. 1 Quote
governorsam Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Have fixed an iPhone wireless chip problem by putting a soldering iron on the chip till the solder gets shiny. sounds dodgy, but it worked. 1 Quote
tortron Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 I've redone a few electronics, got a led backed aliexpress magnifier to help with the smaller stuff, but not sure what the inside of a vz ecu would look like. Probably more refined than early 2000s stuff 2 Quote
vk327 Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 injectronics are the specialists in aus repairing vz ecus , absolute garbage bosch ecu (they burn up the tracks inside the ecu not really a diy type job on multi layer pcbs) to go with equally as junk rattletec engine, my tuner/programming mate has replaced over 70 ecus in vz v6s in the last 2 years 1 Quote
Flash Posted May 8, 2021 Author Posted May 8, 2021 Injectronics, yep, that's the place. Saw a video clip of their re-soldering machine in action. It's a pretty fancy piece of kit. My ECU would fail when hot and then work once cooled down. There was someone here in Straya marketing a bracket that moves the ECU further away from the engine. Supposed to improve the situation, but I have my doubts. Quote
