rusty360
So he's one for Someone with more brake knowledge than me. 06 hilux diesel turbo non abs. When you put your foot on the brake pedal with it running the pedal slowly sinks away. When it's not running the pedal doesn't sink away. System has been bleed and a new master fitted. Toyota tells me this is normal. It stops fine. Doesn't sound normal to me. Cheers rusty
Ned
Sounds normal to me...
Mof
Did it do it with the old master cyl?
Hemi
Sounds normal. New brakes are really squidgy these days. Test with motor off after 5 out so pumps, wait then apply. Should go down a bit then go hard.

Moffmo
My brakes work like this. When engine is off then you can pump the brakes and they get hard.
rusty360
Did it do it with the old master cyl? Yep sure did. We thought it could be the levelling valve in the back.

sr2
It's quite common on many cars, including those with ABS. Static pedal creep (within reason) is nothing to be concerned about.
Roman
Sounds like the brake booster is working

rusty360
Interesting I was always taught that sinking pedal with car running was rooted booster. On much older cars though. Yep me to. Not so much with the new ones apparently thou that's now the normal
