tuning rough and blowing heaps of black smoke

Hey guys just dropped a new motor in my ke20 2tgeu 1600 dohc as the old one blew up now iv gone to start it and it's hard to start and blowing heaps of black smoke when it's runing any ideas on what may be causing it it won't rev at all ether ?

What sort of fuelling are you running - carbs, efi flavour??? Need more info.

 

Initial thoughts are over-fuelling.

It is a GEU yeah?

 

Is the AFM plugged in firmly? they tend to go full pig rich as a sort of failsafe when the ECU cant see the AFM

 

Also even try running it with the AFM unplugged if it is plugged in, a stuffed AFM can also make it go mental rich for no reason, or even if you want to check the flapper inside the AFM and see that it moves freeley, and also springs back to its original position after moving it with your fingers

Yeah giz more details. I assume it is injected. As people said, make sure afm flap is opening through its whole range. Also any idea of condition of the coolent temp sensor?

As others have said it sounds like it's running way too rich. Nothing helpful to add though. Good luck with it.

Float level if carb, AFM stuck wide open or buggered if injected, these would be the best place to start.
