M Night Shamalayan
Ah yes. Magical rivnuts. Good thinking.
AllTorque
I'd be more inclined to use a nut tacked to some steel plate, or at least a large washer for a seat anchor.
M Night Shamalayan
Could probably tack the nut to the existing steel plate that the original thread has been ripped out of, i guess. Just needs a bit of tidying up
Steelies
yeah avoid rivnuts on stuff that matters
M Night Shamalayan
I suppose a seat is relatively important, huh. Looking at it again, it shouldn't actually be that hard to tack another nut in there

AllTorque
What's going on? Have you bled the clutch properly?
M Night Shamalayan
Admittedly, I have no idea what I'm doing haha. The pedal feels ok, though it is very slightly soft at the start of the pedal travel. Very slightly. So perhaps that's enough to stop it from getting into gear
tim13
has been sitting a while maybe clutch stuck to flywheel ?
M Night Shamalayan
Yeah it was sitting for a while whilst I fixed the seat actually. The fork thing from the slave to the clutch prong still moves, so not sure if it would if it was seized maybe?
AllTorque
Can you get a helper to push in the clutch pedal while you look at the slave/fork? You should be able to tell if it is moving far enough. There should be a small amount of freeplay at the pedal.
M Night Shamalayan
Wouldn't have sat longer than A month though at a guess
AllTorque
I can come have a quick look right now if you like.
M Night Shamalayan
Actually? My lord that would be amazing. Pmd
DB8-TypeR
Put it in gear then start with foot on the clutch?
M Night Shamalayan
Yeah, forum user AllTorque has suggested that as my next move. So will clear some shit out of the garage and try it
M Night Shamalayan
Update: moved shit around in the garage, chucked car in reverse, clutch in, turn key, it starts moving backwards. Put in first gear, clutch in, turn key. Also lunges forward. The clutch isn't riding at all. It's fully on starting car with clutch pedal down. I feel like this points to it being seized? Beaver
Yeh or something catastrophic as seems odd that it's seized on after working fine not that long ago?
M Night Shamalayan
Yeah and its not like it failed when i was driving it either. Just been sitting in garage... Cunt arse.
