anglia4
Does anyone have a crv with a towbar that they can post pics of? I've got this towbar for ours but it clashes with this tow hook. Thinking of just cutting it off but doesn't quite seem right to be doing that!
flyingbrick
I just did a quick google and that bar looks real different to the pics I found. http://www.sella.co.nz/motoring/car-parts-accessories/honda/accessories/g3h0xc/ Looks like this one bolts into that tow hook too? AllTorque
Cut the tow hook off. Heaps of towbars need hooks removed. You wont need it once the towbar is there anyway.
anglia4
Sweet as. Looking at the towbar now, I can see a dent in the paint on the vertical bit where it has pressed against what is left of one of those tow hooks. Will cut that fucker off tomorrow. Thanks lads. BTW pro tip #468: While working on the back of your CRV, the picnic table in the boot makes a great portable work bench.
keltik
For the record, Honda build the bars for the NZ new stuff in Nelson. They wont supply for an import because allegedly there are differences even on the same chassis. I suspect this may be one of them.
Raizer
I may be way off but you may find the JDM cars are not rated to tow anything while while NZ new models are. My JDM Altezza has an official tow rating of 0kg, but an NZ new Lexus (same chassis) is rated to tow 500kg.
anglia4
Keltic might be on the money. I had to trim some of the backing plates from the tow bar bolts as they didn't fit around the pressings in the floor. It wasn't as plug and play as I hoped it would be but it fit in the end
