Help - Vibrations

Hey guys,

I have just converted my mk2 escort from auto to manual.

Took it for the first drive and I had some serious vibrations around 2-3 thousand revs.

So I took the drive shaft down to be balanced and had all of the universal joints replaced while they were at it.

Next drive and I still  have vibration. Exactly the same.

Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is maybe the gearbox isn't centered as I had a new cross member fabricated.

Otherwise, maybe it's the gearbox?

Help!

i had a dud new U Joint go in the truck, double check?  That or start thinking flywheel (should do it in neutral)

or clutch/gearbox

all the bolts done up in the drive train?

how about the wheels, i had a hell of a vibration once, turned out the wheel nuts had backed off

Vibration is only when driving.

The spigot bearing is in and everything's nice and tight.

Gearbox feels nice with clean changes.

I think you're on the money ALLTorque.

I had a guy come to have a look tonight and that was the first thing he picked up on.

Because we used the auto crossmember, it dropped the rear of the gearbox down about an inch.

So we're going to make up a bush for the crossmember and see how that goes.

Thanks for the tips!
