DoBro Jesus
Right, so only just recently my brakes have started playing up. Sometimes I brake and pedal goes right to the floor and other times it's fine, it's fucking inconsistent and annoying, once I pump it a couple of times it comes right when it plays up. I haven't lost any brake fluid as I've kept checking it, it happens about 30-40% of the time while driving. Help??
KKtrips
Adjust the rear brakes and see how it goes.
AllTorque
Try bleeding the brakes next.
eke_zetec_RWD
check your wheels for play in the bearings or loose discs. this can cause the pads to push the pistons back into the calipers and therefore you need to push them back out (by pumping) to get the pads touching again before any pressure can be built in the system. DoBro Jesus
Oh forgot to mention brakes had been bled like 2 months ago, ok will check in the morning, it's not detrimental to driving it's just bloody annoying!
eke_zetec_RWD
you will need to jack it up, grab top and bottom of front wheels and push pull.
fuel
I'm going for air in the system somehow, probably a leaking master (leaking only a little fluid, but letting air in) or leaking slave in the rear or perhaps a caliper.
Ridal
I have the same problem. It feels like air in the system and improves if I stamp real hard on the pedal. I've adjusted the rears, bled system multiple times (fixes problem for a short while) and replaced wheel cylinders. Master cylinder isn't very old either. Hoses don't seem to be in bad shape and the calipers don't seem to be leaking. I'm upgrading soon which will replace most parts so I'll see how that goes.
