Steelies
anyone know where i can get hi-temp screened 3core cable to suit me 4age dizzy? well that's what it had, any advice on other options/info would be great. thanks!
vivaspeed
Find a wrecked 4age at pick a part and grab that cable? No idea where to get new cable sorry. Could probably run it unscreened.
Steelies
chur. yeah was wondering about unscreened. another option is to use some hi temp 3 core i have here, and put a screen and sheath over it myself.
Spencer
You should run it screened the signal from the VR sensors on these can be noisy as it is. Stock would be the nicest, think I used some individual screened jaycar spec wire in the past, pretty sure it should ground at the ECU end only, can fully remember all my 4age stz. vivaspeed
Could use a screened multicore control wire with a heat sleeve over it. Most would have reasonable temp withstand. Yep earthed at ecu end.
Spencer
Unless you are sitting the loom on the exhaust most shitty wire handles engine bay temps just fine, using better grade wire is obviously nice though.
kpr
thought it was a 4 core? 3 sensors and ground. unless stock uses the sheld as ground. don't think is does should be able to get some from any electrical wholesalers, ideal, ja russel etc.. ask for instrment/ control cable. and as spencer said. wont need to be any facncy hi temp stuff. Steelies
ah wicked, cheers. mine is set up a little funny to work with the hyperpak magic ignition box. i forget how it's wired up now. think it just takes one wire from the dizzy. the two white wires from dizzy are joined and run to fack knows where. shield was earthed to dizzy body, anything dodge about that? i'll swang by some electrical places later. Spencer
I was sure that the shielding ran to a group of wires that is back at the ECU and also earths one of the ECU pins, my thought was its like that to eliminate and wierd earth loops. Whatever works though man.
Brock-Lee
Haha could this be the cause of your terrible times with getting this running? /lingpost
Steelies
haha! yeah, man i'm sure spencer has blocked it out of his memory but we ate his brains and gained his knowledge, and fucked with everything to get it to run right with the stock setup. couldnt find the gremlins, hence rage quit and carbs. i believe i set it up as it is now to work with the magic box, so it will be different to stock, and worked well before i pulled the donk out last month. just looking to replace the fucked wire without changing anything.
