RUNAMUCK
I'm giving my old scooter a spruce up before I sell it. When I 1st began riding it, I spay bombed it red so I could use the plate off my dead scooter while it still had rego on it. Now I'm trying to paint it up all pretty. (The plastics) But there's a shit load of very cheap, very nasty, fucking awful Enamel on it. And it's gonna react with the lacquer that I'm using. The shape and texture of the parts is quite cunty too. The water blaster knocked some of it off. Anyone got any hot tips to get rid of the rest of the god awful shit? after using this Lacquer, I'm never gonna use rattle can enamel again. It's soo shit. Spencer
Fuck enamel! Should rub off with thinners?
Valiant
Mist it with thinner and waterblast again?
peteretep
Magic bullets are probably pretty bad at taking off paint but they would be good at scratching shit up IMHO
RUNAMUCK
I didn't have any thinners on hand. But a solution came to mind in the shower last night. DOT5. I chucked on some rubber gloves, and applied liberally. The beauty is that it doesn't evaporate lie thinners does. Let it sit for an hour or two, gave it a scrape, then hit it with the water blaster. Removed almost all the red. And much of the even shittier black that was on it before that. I've given it another treatment, and I'll let if soak overnight. It's worked a charm. RUNAMUCK
It's what was in the cupboard in the shed. That or the poo's and wease high temp racing stuff. And no way in hell I'm wasting that stuff on paint removal. (Hell I'm too mean to even use it in my car)
BlownCorona
thats an awesome idea (litterally right this second taking a break from removing paint from my bike)
RUNAMUCK
Worked a fucking treat too. I had to give it three applications though, as the plastic has that gay fake texture in it. and I ran out of gloves, so my hands got arse raped by the fluid. I'm soon to go hit it one last time with the waterblaster.
