Oh hell yes! Awesome amount of pictures to look through mate, thanks for sharing! I love Mazdas and love how you are doing something a bit different with your build. Please keep us updated with all your progress and I want to see lots of vid action of this.

PS: I have a 6pointt 3 piece roll cage from my old RX-3 rally car kicking around not being used. You may be able to convert it/ might bolt in to this if your interested. It's light as hell/full race spec when I had it made.. Just saying..

Cool car! ... And that's an opportunistic use of that road in your project thread :P . No one was coming because of the slip at the other end I guess?

You're obviously mates with Chicken? Low'n'slow's Escort engine was one of his motors I think, and the one in Will's DX seems to be doing the job well too!

i have the same problem on my 626, the s5 four pots are so meaty that i had to use 8ml spacers and modify the wheels and use flares to keep them tucked in the guards... if i were to do it differently i would modify stock struts instead of using series 5 gear... on a positive note, i get almost perpendicular lock when its turned full lock...

it seems to be a problem on 626s, if you look at the kuffem 62 on trademe his tyres are very proud on the front too, and hes using 4pots too

I run the stock struts with a custom insert nd coil over spring I also used Mazda gtr d2 top hats for the camber plates nd thea gto Mitsubishi 4 pots with a 300z disc which jst slips over the factory hub ( cheapest repco listed disc for a 4pot ). I want the wheels to stick out as will aid the handling nd give me less issue with lock. I dnt lyk the idea of any kind of non bolt on spacer the current 1s are 25mm bolt on 1s they also change the stud patten to 4x100.

so whats the ruff specs of this motor? is it a stock MA 2l bottom end with a new 626/telstar style twin cam head? did it bolt straight on? what was the go with the timing chain setup? Just curious as I have a 626 with a fucked head and thought a twin cam head might be a worthwhile swap

It's a whole fe DOHC aka fe3 they come out in few different cars Mazda Ford and Kia. mostly fwd. they run same bell housing patten as all f series engines like what's in a bongo van and courier. I ran unopened wreckers model for a bit then got another non runner and had solid lifters, cams and valve springs put in a head. Bottom end is still standard with freshen up , new rings and bearings deck and hone.

Doubt a Fe3 head would bolt onto a MA block easier to use a complete Fe3 engine.

Fe3 engines share block casting patterns with 1800/2000cc Fe engines from a bongo/b2000 ute. Engine mounts/alternator/powersteering etc from the bongo engine will all bolt to a Fe3 block to make spinning the engine from east west to north south. Just need to make waterlines from the rear of the head as thats where the thermostat is and the dizzy will also foul the firewall. You can make them run fine off a early evo loom/ecu using the CAS from the evo engine aswell
