Yowzer
So I built some bikes Bike 1 This thing was never intended as a serious project, but that doesn't make it any less awesome At the moment there is no clutch, which makes riding it so far completely impossible (or at least I have not succeeded). Once I attach one of them I will see if it is any better. All it currently does is launch out from under you in a rather humorous, yet mildly painful, fashion. Anyway, onwards to something a bit more real.
Yowzer
Bike 2 The real deal. The design is kind of a mash together into something that looks good, loosely based on the board track bikes of the early 1900s. Some minor tweaks will be made to the frame, mostly for aesthetic value. What started as a shitty cheap chinese mountain bike soon met a sabresaw and became this And a mockup with the Honda Still need some wheels/tyres, so on and so on. Yowzer
And on to some engine things On the left we have the 6.5HP Honda clone, a 4HP Honda G41, and a 4HP Villers something thing which needs a rebuild. Started stripping the 6.5 down, removing all unnecessary pieces and getting it ready for some tweaks Aah, chinese quality More chinese quality. Pre-stripped threads Governor setup Fuckoff. Yuck flywheel Uh, ok.. Looks legit More chinese workmanship right here. Cut to a very approximate fit... And some shitty rockers and shitty valve springs Dummied it up on the bike It looks kinda small with everything removed. Keegans engine looks like a much better fit So upgrades to the engine will occur as soon as I buy the bits I need. Gonna run it on E85 just for fun, so more compression, more revs, bigger carb etc shall be happening. The head could do with a bloody good port job too, they are pretty shocking. Meh, all in good time.

Yowzer
How much would these engines overheat if run without the fan shroud? I think it looks much better without it.

Vintage Grumble
Yeh, if they are on a moving vehicle, they dont need no cooling fan/cover. Just may not like b-outs so much.
KIRK
i think for safteys sake alone you should probably leave it on. exploding chinese flywheel or trousers getting caught in flywheel etc edit: have seen on some board track replicas guys have made a new shroud which just covers the flywheel, like an old steel hubcap or something and that looks cool editedit: i would mainly be worried about that magnet detatching at high rpm(seeing as you're guna be doing like double what its designed to run at). It looks to be held on by a wood screw and a bit of glue? lol. I think in the honda clone kart racing in the states they dont let you use those flywheels at the track for the record i have seen a magnet which has detached from a flywheel on a reel mower and it was held on alot better than that one

Yowzer
After seeing the quality of the flywheel up close I have every intention of smashing it with a sledgehammer. So magnets detaching is not a concern of mine.
