Furai
This is a nice pair. For the Crown just get some 326Power coilovers, 70Kg/mm should do it.
NicT
Crowns dont have coil over suspension? Ill have a look, see if they have come up with some crazy idea.Edit: 326Power only have crown suspension for a JZS15* series which is coilover, the S140 series and below have prehistoric suspension that has to be seen to be believed, it is Dual Wishbone suspension, where the front lower control arm is the actual lower mount for the spring and the upper mount is the actual chassis. So the only way to get more low is to chop chop the springs, until the upper control arm hits the chassis. Which sadly isnt really that low (my car would be about 30mm off it now without needing to mod the swaybar)I really want to do a body drop on one of these, No Chassis binding issues with the suspension and epic slam. The main issue with them is the chassis sits below the body so it drags rails before it even looks remotely low.
NicT
Sorry for the upside down picture. But these rubber bushes could be deleted. They are only there for lush comfort class. They are about 20mm thick, so would drop the body by that amount. The Steering column would need a small modification and im sure there are a dozen other little things that would need a tickle to get rid of them but thats one way to gain a little bit more low. This is a shocking photo of the suspension setup. As you see the spring comes right down to the lower arm.
NicT
After having a good sift through oldschools archives i found Spencers thread on his bagged crown wagon: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/23637-ruff-kunts-ms63-crown-wagon/ I hope his ears are burning as he may be able to tell us if you can body drop these or if the chassis hits the body in places stopping it from happening. NicT
I could look into getting the head crack tested. But the bores on the cylinders require a hone and engine will need new rings. Number 5 and 6 are very clean, also rust track from the water gallery to the cylinder so i see where the HG was blown. Head looks in pretty good nick, be it the oil smells burnt as hell (and i did regular oil changes in it) 2JZ time? Maybe carb jz motor? Get a holley 570 and make a crazy side feed manifold?

NicT
Maybe i should forget about the engine and just slam it out and put wheels on it. Tow it behind my chaser looking like a boss
Hachi-ichi
you can go a number of directions with this car, the above is just one. could go 15s, LOW and simple NA JZ, or 2J GTE, 19s etc. but before power... low.

Se i find this way of thinking so bizzare, and proberly why none of my cars have never been rediculiously slammed. But why spend all ur money making ur car low and not be able to drive it? Low is definately on the cars, but engine is priority.

NicT
Been slowly chipping away at this, but busted my knee over the weekend riding bmx. Sucks as i am on uni holidays and i am struggling to crawl around under cars atm. I did some small stuff and removed the fuel rail, and my car decided to try empty the entire fuel tank through the petrol feed. So i mcgyvered up a hose to feed back into the return. Not before stinking up the garage and getting 10 litres of contaminated fuel into various containers. Not ideal end to the day with.
NicT
Sad crown gets sadder as i slowly gut it more and more. Sad 1jz Sad pile of garbage that used to make the car go vroom vroom Sad pile of JZ bits As i am a uni student/jobless bum, my misses says i cant buy car parts. So Sad crown will be sad for a long time i think. Will clean bits and bobs and do what i can to busy myself. Will also commit a lot more time to the carina now Martyns car is gone.
