BlownCorona
nice! a trick i learned early on is that sweet jap 13" rims suit them way better than 17"s always wanted to try watanabes but ill never swap out the advans, suit it way too well
be4ver
Yeah I'm pretty keen to ditch those wheels in favor of some older style coolness and put those lensos on my lancer since 17s look sweet on EXs
be4ver
Hey fliboi does your corona have a fuel return line under the car to the tank? Was just looking at plumbing up the fuel pump etc on mine and noticed there's no return line?
BlownCorona
Nope no return line, mines running the 2000cc toyota engine and its got a weber carb with the single line fitting on it. does the rotory need a return line? because im sure it would be easy enough to put in. also those ex plastics in the boot look mint, gonna have to keep an eye out as they would just top my boot setup off perfectly! you dont happen to have a spare fuel flap do you?? the last part i need
BlownCorona
also can you please get/make a boot badge that says Rotorona, i like how that rolls off the tongue
be4ver
The carb on the rotary has a return line there but some people just block it off, i would have thought that would flood it/ run rich constantly tho? i pulled the return line out of my ex i'm wrecking and half jammed it in there. looks like it will work but i will have to make a new hole in the tank which i don't really wanna do. not sure what i'll do yet. need to do some more research i think. nah no fuel flap sorry man, got no spare parts for it at all unfortunately. haha yeah i've already thought about making up a rotorona badge, just dont want it to end up looking all budgo n poos. how do ya think these will look on the corona? with black centers! found them today. massive bargin! yoeddynz
Wicked little car- needs 13" wheels.... As long as you keep the pressure going into the Nikki below 4 psi you should be ok. Thats all the pressure they need. Anymore and it will flood. But if you need to you could run a return back into boot and add a little pipe into the fuel gauge sender unit- so saving having to muck around with fuel tanks. Make sure the fuel line to engine is at least 8mm. I'd just block the return outlet on carb off and install a decent fuel pressure reg. What fuel pump have you got? be4ver
Iv got a Mallory pump and a Holley reg with a gauge on it n shit. I just thought you would still need some sort of return in the system somewhere?

yoeddynz
Just keep that pressure down. The nikki carb i had on the RX3, on a series 3 rx7 engine, ran well with a little facet fuel pump. The flow was more than enough and pressure was about 3.5 psi. Much more and the float needle will get forced open and start flooding. I think the return is there so the pump is not working so hard against a closed needle. But some pumps are fine with that. I'm running a carter pump with no return and I can hear it when the chamber is full. I think the pump needs fuel running through it to keep it cool but as soon as the engine is running its cycling fine. Ask on Ausrotary as plenty of knowledge/experience on there. It would be worth popping the top off the carb, turn it upside down and double check the float heights as this affects the running quite a bit. With the car level and the engine is running the fuel height should be half way up the sight glass on the carb.
BlownCorona
i agree, 13" rims do look best, but those mesh ones you got are pretty sweet and it sounds like the price was right, clean them up and they should suit it pretty well. be4ver
yeah ill clean em up n see what i think, they may end up on my mitsi even. Also had thoughts of putting some 13" steels painted black with some chrome rings on

be4ver
Rosco auto dismantlers in ashburton. They dont usually have much old stuff like that, mostly mid to late 90s and up. But a few gems pop up sometimes. Ive had a few good scores there in the past! My ex is a prime example!
rwd_mayhem
That is one sweet car mate! Meshies would look good, just not too sure about the bolt-ons.
yoeddynz
But a few gems pop up sometimes. My ex is a prime example! Shit- you scored a girlfriend from there? Wow. What a place.
be4ver
haha my lancer! trust me, my ex is no gem! yeah bolt ons look a little av but would be only if i flip the centers and have massive dish and stickoutness. although done right i think it would be pretty dam sweet lookin
BlownCorona
the problem with bolt ons is that these cars already have small flares that are recessed into the body, so most bolt ons will look way out of place.
be4ver
would look good on a rat rod type rotorona! needs to be a bit classier than this for mine
