Trigger
Sorry I haven't read "all" this but, What engine are you going with? Just wants be careful when using the Starion box (may want to check/measure the bell housing bolt holes) Also what x-member/lower arms are you going use? Don't think Sigma sway bar "bolts up" to the 1600 stuff Good luck
will i am
have got a starion motor to put in got 1600 x member and starion lower arms sigma tie rods have had starion suspension in the ex already so have had to mix and match things to sort that out it looks like the sigma swaybar will bolt up threw were the track rods go to. but will have to take the track rod mounts off 1st then slide them over swaybar. could be wrong tho. all part off the fun
Boxtype
What starion parts were you able to use on your EX? Have you converted from 4 hole to 5 hole?

OSM Garage
WOW, seems that motor has seen better days. The balance shaft bearing out of place may have caused low/no oil pressure rooting your main bearings. You no doubt have heard of the balance shaft removal method. Doing this you should be able to save the block.
will i am
was googleing the balance shaft removal kit. only ones i could find are in america. may have to search ebay aussie yea engine has seen better days funny enough the motor was rebuilt by a wreakers not long before i got the car think the boy did it cause timing was a tooth out bearing and head set packages were in the boot
