I've had that happen a few times, get a motor going that has been sitting around for a bit and the thermostat is stuck.buy a new one man, for what they cost it's not worth the hassle.

In tuner studio goto the "basic setup" tab, then "more ignition settings" then set "fixed advance" to "fixed timing" and then "timing for fixed advance" to around 10deg or something that it will happily idle at, then chuck a timing light on it and set your timing at the dizzy to 10 (or what ever you set it at the ecu)

This will stop the timing jumping around the table if the idle isn't stable

Then go back and set fixed advance back to "use table" and your timing is officially set 8)

having now mastered the wiring of a factory ECU, I think this would be a sweet challenge!
