mikuni
Pretty lol - "it is essential to avoid driving anywhere in Auckland during the weekend unless absolutely essential." Hi All,Put this one in your diaries. A weekend to get out of town – if you can! Re: Newmarket Viaduct / Motorway Closure On the weekend of 4th and 5th September we will be closing the southbound carriageway of SH1 in the vicinity of the Newmarket viaduct to carry out the necessary works to enable us to open the new southbound bridge by Monday 6th September. To avoid major disruption on the surrounding arterial road network it is essential to avoid driving anywhere in Auckland during the weekend unless absolutely essential. Due to the enormous task of getting our message across to the whole of Auckland and the surrounding areas, we are requesting that everyone forward this HTML email to as many people as possible. I ask you to forward this email to any schools, sports clubs, etc in order to get our message across. Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated. davidian
wish they just dug the damn tunnel. Even tho we'd have to cough up $5-10 toll each pass to shore and same again on the way back. Speaking of which, what day is the bridge day walk?

This is Newmarket Viaduct.. nothing to do with the bridge. or vic tunnel.. they are moving the crane from the new bridge to the old. easiest and cheapest way to get the job done. people are going to bitch and moan any which way the job gets done. Bombsquad
they do have a bridge walk in the next week or two. I went on the last bridge ride/walk to support the pedestrian + cycle way. Riding over bridge was fuckin cool, possibly have to attend again. That was heading down towards the shore
