escortwags
hay yo, engines running mean and idles chur as have a slight new issue te slave is folding under pressure (moves and bends down) and has revealed some super fuked threads in the bellhousing for it!!!! argghh so thoughts are - definitly dont want to take the gearbox off - after a fix even if it means the bolts will never come off again!!!!!!!!!!!! got some of those threads that you wind in but found its impossible to drill out the bellhousing and tap it (no room at all) has anyone had the same prob and fixed it mint as?? some sort of hardner shit to make the bolt set in? or some super thread crap that forces the bolt to tighten, i dont know im tired and this engine is just being a pain in the arse
thegreatestben
no room to run a tap down the hole using a spanner to turn it?
escortwags
maybe....? but the bitch of a mish would be redrilling the hole to allow for a bigger tap if you get what i mean or it being alloy could we just get away tapping the crap out of it without redrilling? Requiemk
make up a bracket around threads so it holds better ?
escortwags
imperial size might be the go, but on closer inspection the holes are flogged to shit were M8 but have no thread left in them argghhh yes weld would be nice but no room to get anything in there let alone having to redrill holes etc. etc. nothing in the immediate area to make any kind of bracket and wouldnt really help the problem as the bolts can only get done up finger tight after that they free spin like a slut

escortwags
arghh screw the children helicoil = redrilling bellhousing (MISSION) probably end up with metal flying around cltuch let alone trying to drill the pricks with some kind of magic drill - please supply example of JB WELD saving the day and its orsomness
UTERUS
I'm on a similar level of lazy, with no room around the slave to get my hand in there. bnt will have some metal putty type shiz, well the one i goto did.
Mick Doohan
..its alloy ?? tap will make its own hole...if you do it right
escortwags
Yeah thats why i was thinking NEED-IT but it might be a tad to rangi? dont want it to fuck out after 5mins forgot to ad onto diagram ontop of bellhousing and exhaust - firewall - clutch and brake shit - intake manifold almost touching the firewall - all sorts of shit making life difficult doubt i would be able to get a decent right angle to tap a decent thread, will probly end up having to redo alloy = pussy arse shit that should never have thread
Unclejake
No room for a bolt passing right through the bellhousing and slave cylinder with a nut on the end?
escortwags
yes there is, but one hole isnt all the way threw and we dont want to take the g-box off again, it wsa a mish to put on and im over it Cheers for the advice though, think we are going with the JB WELD plan but running studs into the bellhousing so the slave tightens with nuts to get max pressure on the bastard fingers crossed it all works out awesome
Hemi
im with wayne on the helicoil idea , but if you cant get to it , some form of epoxy putty like uick metal or this 'jb wled' . will suffice . dont be surprised if it pulls out though
