thegreatestben
Wanting to cut out a bit of the battery tray and a support for it. It's combined with the left hand side engine mount in an AW11. How would you chaps recommend going about chopping this out. Thinking a grinder but they kick up heaps of sparks and shit every where. Also don't want it to be sharp and corroded. Just want to non horey it basically.

thegreatestben
top of the brace part won't be too hard, it spot welds to the raised lip which the boot seal runs along. I want to take out the battery tray to make way for intercooler installation/jiggery

Unclejake
^ You could borrow mine but it is fucked and needs a repair done that involves parts. Mine was an spendy one so it is probably worth fixing but right now it ain't much use as the blade keeps falling out. EDIT: And if you put the unshrouded pod filter back into that car I will pull your hair

thegreatestben
I got brave. Used grinder with nioce cutting blade. removed the bulk of material, will need something smaller and a grinding disk to finish. nicked the top of the engine mount steel in one place, will just paint with por15 to hide that. Also nicked two wires, just the insulation will fix those too...
