LSD For Non LSD Diff?

Righto , firstly Im about as retarded as most when It comes to this, so please no "my brother's dad's uncles festering rabid dog said...."

For the/a Gemini:

Basically Piazza LSD's are unobtainable, I do not wish to be changing to the likes of a Ford 9" or Hilux etc..

So, whats the feasability of putting (insert diff head here) say a MX5 LSD diff head into the gemini diff..

I do realise the MX5 is IRS, but seeing as its the head you're using that should be fine?

I would then require custom or billet axles to suit right?

Can it be done, or have I had one to many sniffs of fanta?

Whats the go, has anyone attempted/done it, if so what sort of cost involved?

Obvisously more expensive than phantom grip and welded - niether of which Im too keen on..

Edit, Forgot to mention, I neither have that much time or mechanical inclination to attempt at modding up myself, if it is possible, would go to an engineer/gear specialist etc to be done..

Have you measured a mx5 diff is it close? even if it is the coin involved to make axles etc would easy get you a decent rear end in there two times over. There's other smaller options rather than the usual 9" and hilux and you will save a fortune, sorting a head to fit your diff is only a cost effective option if you've got the skills to do it your self

how much power is the piazza pushing?

could look into toyota F series live axle, seem to handle the jandal pretty well behind some big power engines and LSDs are plentiful though mainly aftermarket - most stock LSDs are either torsen or rooted

or if you have a raging 80hp even a T series would be a good option, can get a bit spendy as this is whats in AE86s but once again TRD LSDs are highly affordable (have seen secondhanders on TM for ~600)
