DangerousPerson
I'm wanting to give my Morri a bit more power and was wanting some advice on what's the best way to go about this. Been looking on Trademe for a while and have found these two engines. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =200002392 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =199440255 Not sure if either of them would be suitable. Would do a rebuild of the engine first of course as they're both pretty rough and would need to source other parts like gearbox etc. Would like the 1500 but if the 1200 is going to be less hassle then would do that. any help?? Cheers
Steelies
theres a guy at my work who does k-series toyota conversions on morries, apparently the mounts are easy and the box, starlet diff and driveshaft all fit!

RUNAMUCK
Whilest the A15 would go harder, if it's had water in the bores it'll need a rebore/new pistons for sure. $350 min, just fro the pistons. But yeah, stick a datto in it for sure!

DangerousPerson
Yeah just wanted to make sure I'm looking at the right stuff. I'm guessing I'm gonna have to do a fair bit on any engine I get. Just don't want anything that needs expensive shit I can't do myself with a Haynes and a well stocked tool box. bubblegoose
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 808848.htm expensive i know, but it keeps it a-series and has almost everything needed think the model is 73hp? more than double what you have now anyway
BobbyBreeze
Problem is to use a 1275 BMC A series out of a transverse car (mini/metro/1300 etc) you need to find a 1275 inline crank, and do some other mods to the block to accept a sump. Its not really simple, and 1275 inline cranks are hard to come by, i think they only came out on 1275 MG midgets.
