Gaz

I know there are bubble arches and forrest flares.. the forrest flares are the square type often found on MK2 sports..

there is the bubble arches which have a massive rear pannel replacement.. and there are the smaller bubbles which are basically extra large bolt ons.

Theres bubble flares(as far as I know, ford only made one type of bubble gaurd, but people have come along afterwards and made their own slightly different versions), rs/mexico/sport gaurds(type 48(sport, had 6 dial dash and gaurds but no strengthening) and type 49 shells(rs/mexico)) and standard gaurds for mk1's

For mk2's theres forest flares which are like a square version of a bubble flare - like the mk2 itself is a square version of the mk1, then theres standard guards

Aye the small bubble and the large bubble makes sense RT.

I know the mk2 had the forest flares, I like them the most but not suitable for the mk1.

I like the ones for mk1 escorts that are bubble but kinda squareish edge. Like this one. I think they may be a BDA type gaurd?

Mark ones have the standard and the gt guards, and the boreham bubble arches. All of these are steel. Loads of aftermarket ones, of which the most ourtageuos were probably the Zakspeed ones.

Mark twos had the X-pack fibreglass arches - a dealer option. Forest and tarmac works arches were all ally.

Just had a quick squizz. I dont like those ones as much as the ones that are a bit more square on the top. They look alot better on the van than coupe tho. I like your front ones.

How are you going to make the rear rivets concealed?

Much tidier now with a bit of bog. Did you countersink the rivets and then just bog over?
Just building up the curve that was already in the flair to cover the rivets, only gone so high with the bog to fill some bits that warped when welding up the "tubs"

I dont understand what your looking for gaz, is it a bubble flare like in the pic or a mexico flare?

Im not sure what they are called that was why I started the thread.

Want ones like thecar I posted above.

Ive lost the pic of the white mk1 with a green and red stripe down it (castrol car) but thats exactly the gaurds I want.

Maybe the same as these. (note how it is kinda flat at top rather than bubble into the gaurd..or is it jus me?)

i have been looking for these guards but i have not been able to find them.i think they are a Zakspeed special fibreglass guard.

i have found most bubble gurads are the same the rear guards are very flat and not as round as the front.

Ive got a set of steel bubble guards from england abt 3 months ago and they are the same as the fibreglass ones i already had.
