TOYOPET Posted September 19, 2007 Share Posted September 19, 2007 so... wanting to do this: except swap that 20v for a 16v... and just not in such a rugged way... hahaha let me explain: things have changed and I've decided I'm going to have the 4age in the wagon for trackday, I'm dedicating every weekend and most nights after work to get this shit done. BUT i need help. I dont really have much of an idea on how or what to do.... i can probably get the 5k unbolted and everything.... but I'm asking you good cunts for help with doing the rest... I dont ask you to give up your weekdays as I can just potter along on my own most nights anyway... just would like some help during the weekends if your bored etc. i know im asking for alot, but atleast im willing to learn and not just asking cos i cant do it myself!!! I wanna learn as much as possible so yeah just need you guys to give me some time and help me learn everything. I can offer sweet lunches etc for your efforts. discuss here! chur. Mike-e should know more than me... ive got motor box (nice 1 if i do say so myself lols) d-shaft altenator wiring loom pedal box sorted for hydrualic clutch stz engine mounts computer think i lost one of the injectors tho... ummm.. anything else i should have??? things like fuel pump etc im not sure of aye... think spencer said he got me one, but he never gave it to me... so prolly not. im going to pull everything out of the shed this weekend and see what im missing. If so all this stuff should be covered but just make sure your engine mounts are sweet. Also gearbox crossmember or are you using a k50? If you are using that box you won't need to change driveshaft but if you are using t50 and changing DS, make sure it will bolt up to diff. Is your radiator up to the task? If its keeping the 5k cold it should be ok I guess. Clearances to it aswell, may need electric thermo fan. All of that can be sorted mid way but just bear in mind that conversions like this aren't usually as simple as changing an engine. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
