danger
What carb? Nikki 2 barrel. Can I not adapt something like a 32/36 webber? To be fair I know jack shit about carbs Just got new chromoly rings and big ends/ mains as well. High lift cam is identical to standard cam although lobes are about 3mm taller
nismo.capri
Nikki 2 barrel. Sorry never touched one. Can I not adapt something like a 32/36 webber? To be fair I know jack shit about carbs The idea is to completely seal the carburetor and use floats that can handle pressure. The other option is to put the carb in a sealed box and pressurise the box with boost so that the preesure is the same inside and out side the carb. When a carb is booststed, the carb is no longer dealing with the atmospheric pressure it was designed to work with. Instead, it's being forced to compensate with a pressurized air/fuel environment. You need a boost-referenced fuel presssure regulator a ruff rule of thumbs is for 1 psi of boost it must also receive a 1 psi boost in fuel pressure. High lift cam is identical to standard cam although lobes are about 3mm taller That will be a really good start, personally I like a gt grind with the SC14
danger
So I just need to box in the whole carb and run the box straight to the charger with a bigger fuel pump? Cheers for the advice mate,

Cheers for the advice mate, Basiclly yes and DON'T forget to make sure the floats can handle boost, the prseeure ususally causes them to colapse. If I was you I'd ring some euro wreakers and see if you can get a carb from a Lancia Delta HF Turbo http://www.motorbase.com/vehicle/by-id/-1480211789/ It's probably a hard ask but you never know. Burntrubber
A stock 32/36 off a Escort or Cortina will handle the boost fine with a few minor mods. I modifyed the secodaries on my Gemini years ago cant remember exactly what I did it involved welding a lug on to operate the second throat and removing all the vacume bits like the actuator ect. I used a holly fuel pressure reg a pump from a 13bt Mazda luce and the webber carb for my setup was all good once I sorted all the teething probs. Should probably upgrade any rubber fuel hoses aswell seen as there will be more pressure. As for the floats make sure they are plastic ones not brass the brass ones arnt as strong. The lancia carbs are 32/36's modded for boost IIRC. Did you have a problem with leaky throttle shafts? A guy I worked with ended up boxing his carb because of the leak he had. Burntrubber
First carb I used I made dry air seals so it leaked clean air not air fuel mix. Latter on I put an un modded one on and it was fine aswell.
