No real problems with this conversion, just make sure you build it on a flat surface and double check all your measurements befor you weld it back together
TygerTung
I can't see any real problems other than it's a monocoque structure, and if you remove the roof the car will fold in two.

CaMpylobacter
heaps of these in britain... jsut gotta make sure you keep tabs on any rust with roof chops in minis.... convertables have been known to break in half, open road stz etc.
drftnmaz
the front subfrme is a big steel box so you can just extend that all the way to the back and build the rear suspension into it and then it'll be strong enough to chop the roof off
Defective
get ya measuring tape out dude, im pretty sure a mini is 40mm narrower at the back compared to the front....
Chrome_GT
Look out at the Warehouse. They have a $10 dvd all about minis. There is a yellow one on it as you described. Convertible and shortened. The dvd has a geen front with a british green mini on it. The dvd is boring but turn the sound off, put on some tunes and fast forward all the interviews and just look at the cars. Gives some good ideas for mini mods. TygerTung
I would have thought a mini would already have been short enough?

Muzzie
That'd be funky to drive around, weave through the traffic and then park in places that most cars can only dream of
