  1. I have some munroe GT gas in the back of my wagon, they were cheap and they're great! made a huge difference! We put a full set of munroe gt gas in my mums sentra it handles great now! munroes arn't bad.
  2. You must consider that if you solid mount the gearbox you will also need to solid mount the engine if you want it to pass certification.
  3. Oh crap what is the problem with the thermostat housing? Does it foul the firewall? Do you need to massage the firewall with a hammer?
  4. It's not been rose jointed or caged yet as It's still in my garage building the engine and fitting it. Engines all done, just need to make up a throttlebody gasket and fit the timing belt. I'll see how it goes around ruapuna with the cut sigma springs it has in it now, I'll probably end up getting some different springs in any case though.
  5. Anyway you can easily work out the spring rate of the chopped springs using maths, but you can't do it on the king springs before you buy them unless the shop has them in stock which I doubt they would so you'd have order them in.
  6. Piss off, at least I know they're stiff, I don't want to go and buy some bloody king springs then find they're real soft as I have experienced king springs to be before.
  7. But does anyone really know REALLY what spring rate those springs are? I mean it's not much use if you don't know is it, GOSH!
  8. OK, these guy's obviously arn't being much help. If you have a 1200 orion series engine you'll need a different engine crossmember, I'd recomend buying a whole 2L RWD sigma for $50 or somthing in rough condition. Bolt the whole subframe in, including struts and brakes, swaybar etc. If you keep the original lancer struts for some reason, the front springs are actually the same diameter as the back so you could just use the same as the front in the back. It's a real easy conversion. Heres a couple of links which may be of interest. //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4378 //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic. ... hlight=lsd
  9. Nah I'd recomend bellemy and east, they have way better deals.
  10. As long as the bottom of the spring seats alright, you can just get some top hats to suit. My friend got some out of an AE82 corolla for his starlet.
  11. Does it have corona/cresida/supra/celica struts in it? The stub axle sticks out on a different angle so you get positive camber. Get some camber plates and/or adjustable lower arms.
  12. They recomend you get a ridiculously soft spring rate which you accept as you know nothing about spring rates at that point, not very low, and really uncaptive, and then the powrdercoating comes off in a few weeks leaving you with a rusty soft, high spring.
  13. Maybe clutch systems? Or don't even bother 4K's only have 59-65 horsepower anyway so it probably won't really matter anyway, just rough it up with a bit of sandpaper.
  14. I asked belemy and east in christchurch and they're 180 a pair, chamberlians rip off artist are like fucking 260, what a rip, they're crappy springs too.
  15. It might fit better once you get some RWD 4G63 mounts? I didn't bother slotting my crossmember, just took up the movement with the rubber bush.
  16. I wouldn't be too keen as it's grandma-matic. The engines are pretty good, I had one in my lancer EX with 290k's on it, but it still ran mint as with no smoke and 200 psi compression.
  17. How would you strengthen the block?

    dellortos

    Go for dellorto's, they're a newer design.
  19. Ever thought of using an old intercooler as a radiator?
  20. I'm also doing up an EX lancer in christchurch, we'll be the mean ex turbo gang.
  21. Yeah you do, otherwise the surge tank won't fill up.
  22. Are you still using the factory fuel lines in the lancer? I was planning on doing this to save money, I just brought a surge tank on trademe for $90 it's polished stainless, so it will be sweet as, I'll use a low pressure fuel pump off a carby cordia turbo, and a high pressure fuel pump off a EFI cordia turbo.
  23. Yes, but obviously you arn't going to have back seats or a parcel tray in your lancer to save weight, and yes I am planning on doing a lot of hard cornering, this is what these cars are all about!
  24. I was going to convert my lancer to a racecar, do you need to weld in a firewall in the boot if you're going to have the surge tank mounted there do you?
  25. That is very expensive! Wouldn't you get petrol fumes sifting into the car all the time if it was mounted in the boot?
