I tell ya what I did last time(3yrs ago) I raised the car on stands. Then used a skateboard under two scissor jacks to raise and slide the box in. Really dodgy!!! trust me don't do it :)

Get a trolley jack to take the weight. You and your mate should be able to guide it.

Oh dam, this brings back nightmares haha. Il tell you now that its pretty much impossible to do on your own..

A mate and I tried many different ways (had to remove & refit it twice because I used the wrong clutch release bearing first time round  ) the best seemed to be to use two trolley jacks, one at the rear of the box and one at the front, on the bellhousing.

Jack up each end as needed, and dont let go of the box until its well into the transmission tunnel.. lets just say it doesnt balance very well haha...

The engine will need to tilt as far back as it can possibly go.. for the very tight squeeze it is in the original 4sp manual tunnel.. but yours was an auto aye? so youl have more room to play round with anyway.

By far the hardest bit was getting the input shaft into the clutch plate.. which again was made alot harder by having the smaller manual tunnel..

So yea, this is all presuming that you're doing it on the floor by the way... :P

I found it hard getting it off in the first place so when it came to putting it back in the car I bolted it to the engine first then used the mega tilt technique to put both engine and box back in together, this was a 1600 but im sure its the same sorta thing.

I always bench press my gearbox into position on my RWD, can't do it on the gay FWD cordia though, it's really awkward in there.

dont you know anyone with a hoist, makes it an easy job!

ps. i always benchpress my spare gearbox to get mad guns 8)

trust me man! this thing is damn heavy!!! sure they didnt fill it with led logan?

hey logan, i was thinking of bringing my 2 2 ton jacks if you want, then we can have some sort of beams run under the box, then jack it up. 2 on the front, and 2 on the back. that way it will be a bit more stable. but will still be dodgy having to move it....

still think its easier if i get Dylan to come around too, and you get mike. then jack up all 4's and have 4 people lifting it up and moving it into place. would be alot easier to manouvre...

you guys are pussys

4 guys for one box? fuckin hell might as well pay some cunt to do it

seriously tho, cmon i took my 5 speed off by myself grabbed it by the bellhousing and stuck my foot under the shifter part and brought it down. had 1 mate help me lift it up. the 4x4 box/case are waaay heavier
