Guest emerson
Just read the thread bout the honda engine into esky, and although it is ridiculous it is do-able. I have seen an avenger with a honda engine - 1600 (not quite sure on code, was non v-tec and carbed) engine in, using shortened honda CRV Gearbox, shortened driveshaft, diff and axles, albeit with a custom adaptor. Went like a shower of shit and the guy only did it to prove it could be done. Cost him fuck all too, cheap rustbox hillman, 100 engine, scored the drivetrain off one being wrecked and machined everything else himself. Then he tried to rangi up a blower for it, all went to custard Anyone else seen/done a FWD/RWD conv..

zep
That still dosen't help with the backwards spinning crank and the gear box...
Muzzie
That still dosen't help with the backwards spinning crank and the gear box... They don't spin backwards do they - they're just in the car back to front, so if you turned them round the right way then you'd have a correctly spinning crank. No? I'm either spot on the money or barking up the wrong tree lol

Gaz
That would make sense. As i said in the other post there is something about the Hillman diffs that make the diff reversable. maybe not tho as i have just been searching google for an hour to no luck. Guest Eddie W
Looking at the inner guard I'd say the beater should have done the second night at nightschool. Perhaps the third and fourth as well. Eddie

kyteler
Hey, maybe it's a drift car and he's had to bash the inner guard about to fit things back on more than a few times, or maybe because it's a drift car and the inner guard sits out of site under the bonnett he doesn't give a rat fucken ass. lowlancer
Bloody japanese! I'm a massive fan of JDM mentalness, but somehow putting a VTEC from an S2000(?) into an FC seems dumb More power than the factory rotaries mind
isnowi
fwd to rwd you say, i'm 2/3 of the way through a fwd DOHC galant motor into a rwd sigma ( i know i know, trying to find a tidy celeste to put it into, the sigma is a work bench to iron out problems) the only issue left to sort out before swinging it in is the gearbox adaptor, when i began the project i was sworn ro black and blue that the sigma box would blt up (it is on the back of a 4g63 after all) but it woiuld now appear to be not the case. lowlancer
Don't you just hate it? The gearbox I got doesn't fit properly either:( Lying wreckers!
isnowi
Yeah, i'm not too concerned at this point, the way i see it i have 3 options, 1 i machine an adaptor plate from 12mm aluminium to mate up to the std borg warner box, 2 i machine an adaptor plate from 12mm aluminium to suit another box (celica or something similar) 3 i rip it down and rebuild using the sohc block and doihc head, i really dont wanna do this though.. lowlancer
My release bearing sits too far back to reach the clutch, though that might be cos the gear box is fucked?
