  1. Damnit, I thought you'd be the most likely to know haha
  2. OK so I really need to get my Alto mobile so I can either fix it up or sell it (probably sell it). My question is... Would the trans/diff from this car: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/suzuki/auction-975822886.htm fit my SS80 Alto? Please say yes.. That car is local to where my Alto is so it would be ideal if it does fit Fanksh guysh
  3. Yeah I wanted it to look like its meant to be there. The badge itself was a lucky find too, came in a box full of old badges some guy's grandpa had collected over the years. Thanks for your kind words hombre
  4. idk if its of any value, but we have access to a property on mangawhai road that has a big outdoor area, lots of parking, a tennis court and a pool...
  5. I just had an idea... Why don't they use RHD cars then just flip the image? Sounds kind of a like a stupid idea but it could work... So long as there's no text in the frames that gets reversed haha /possiblelingpost
  6. Hey man, if you head over to classiccarparts.co.nz and see anything you want to order, chuck me a PM and I'll give you the OS discount code. There's overnight delivery on most items and we have heaps of bits in stock that you would find useful!
  7. Maaaate, next time you need something from Hawkswood gimme a PM, I'll give you the OS discount code (I manage the business)
  8. If I were you I'd leave the clutch cover in bare alloy. It would probably pay to use some proper alloy primer stuff, I've never had much luck making paint stick to them for very long. Also looking at the oil cap on the rocker cover, it would probably be a good idea to replace it. If you give me a PM we could talk about setting up some sort of a deal for ordering parts through my work (classiccarparts.co.nz)
  9. OOOOH A PRIZE! (That's going straight in my basket) I'll try to be there, though last time I was at Smales Farm I came across a mini that had had a disagreement with its balljoints so I'm a little wary
  10. I have some ramps if you can't find anything else. I'm on the shore
  11. Wow, Its been a while since my last update... Things have been up and down since then. I've swapped the engine out for a 1000, just temporarily. I'm slowly building up my performance 1100, but in the meantime I've bought some 20thou oversized pistons for a 1000, so I'm going to do a real quick budget rebuild on that. Basically just bored out, slotted pistons, decked head and reground cam. Keeping it simple! But other than the engine swap, things have been going fairly well. Chucked on the Cooper S reverse rims and Yokohama A008s and now it sticks to the road even better than shit to a blanket! I honestly don't know how it does it. Next up suspension-wise is new shocks, seeing as the old ones are very well stuffed. I'll get some nice adjustable and shorter shocks so that I can adjust my suspension down a bit too - it's currently sitting on the standard height. Other than that, I've given the interior a bit of a tidy up, with bargain reclining front seats and a Riley Elf rear seat (luxury!). I also chucked in some retro speakers and a soon to be hidden headdeck. Now here's some pictures:
  12. Those speedwell seats are what I want for my car! They're so sleek and coooool. Also feel free to check out stuff from my work - classiccarparts.co.nz (we can get any Mini parts for a damn good price!)
  13. Guess what?? I'm coming to this! It's been so long since my last meet...
  14. It's a factory one from some form of Fiat as far as I know
  15. Well at the moment we're still struggling to get it running right. It seems to be massively overfueling and just flooding continually. So it's now a matter of trial and error I guess haha
  16. I have a weber and some sort of manifold to fit a 2l twin cam if you're interested? It's just sitting round seeing as we decided to go down the fuel injection route for our Lada (which is this one: http://ladaniva.co.uk/baxter/cloggy/fiva1.html)
  17. Bled the slave a few times and all seems OK now. Weird that it was the problem, didn't even take it off or anything, just shifted it out of the way. Oh well, probably good news tbh!
  18. It's fairly easy to access, just a matter of pulling stuff out of the way. I would rather try everything else first though. Movement on the rod is reasonable, spring is fitted. Haven't adjusted the end nuts. Trying to bleed the clutch atm, though it's being a difficult shit. Pedal has been fairly soft, then it got quite firm part way through. But now it's back to soft... I'll keep going and depending on what I end up with I'll keep going through the list of things to do...
  19. I didn't pull the engine apart or anything, so I don't think that's the issue haha Cheers anyway
  20. After putting the new engine into my mini, I think the clutch is seized. The car it came from had been sitting for a little while (accident damaged) so it's quite likely. Basically it doesn't want to engage gears. I've tried: Rolling it back and forth in third gear. Starting it in second and driving along, flooring the accelerator while foot is still on clutch. The same as above, but slamming the brakes on. I even came to a halt once to see if stalling it would help jarr it free. it didn't. Pumping the clutch with the car off. None of these have worked so far... Any other ideas? Would it be worth bleeding the system just in case there's an issue there? (though I doubt there is) Cheers
