  1. If the initial purchase price is low enough to walk away from it/wreck the high value parts, you can't lose. Plus it's only a weekend car, worst case scenario is that you have to use the daily in the weekends, provided you haven't ticked up $15k @ 24% to get it...
  2. Clean sheet wof, testing station chap even foamed a little about the bar mounts being milled off. Battery needs to be charged for full dazzle - will siphon a little oil out tonight too, could really do with a dip stick/viewing window. Polish, then sell, if keen PM, owes me over $2k/I've done 500 km in a year would be stoked with $1500 otherwise will be on trademe at the weekend.
  3. September! 2 months to do a couple of simple jobs...rage quit with gasket paper, bought liquid gasket = success. Failed at getting bike to run, ether would give a cough. Realised eBay 'bling' fuel filter was providing too much resistance. Replaced exhaust -> header rubber joiner with Nos, luverly Wheelies round work car park, spotted large amounts of oily petrol/petroly leaking on ground crank case 'stopper' not sealing properly. I think it actually is ready for a wof now...will report back tomorrow.
  4. Small world, I know the owner of that white bike up there, it's only a 250 under all that kit.
  5. My students design a container house as a project so would be sweet to see the plans!

    Sam's MT250

Orrrr replace the ignition for ~$10 off ebay/by pass the ignition until you've got the rest of it sorted...
  7. I like how the photoshop makes it look like a Matchbox toy! I'm pretty sure It was for sale at Turners Chch in May last year, did it not sell then?
  8. I'm not sure about the visor with the works myself, slightly different styles on the same car? The visor seemed to me to fit perfectly the old style with roof racks and suitcases.
  9. So you can't get original crankcase gaskets anywhere so I had a go at making my own. Pretty straight forward with ball pein hammer and gasket paper from super cheap. Jobs to do Refit stock bars and top triple then decide if I want flat bars instead as the clip ons are just too low for comfort. New bullet terminals for indicators as the ones that came with the ebay specials are too small. Wof and decide bikes future I'm thinking that a car may maximise my OS involvement/enjoyment as my kids would be able to drive with me/ wife isn't getting on the back again in a hurry. Currently entertaining the idea of an 80s coupe...

  11. Just looking at stop lamp requirements - /spam Edit: for clarification this is why you might fail a WOF
  12. Has been on my watchlist for ages, I used to walk past one of these on the way to school in the 80s (and an S panel van!). I think it's awesome!
  13. Yes, but how many times did you meet him? I'm sure I got into double digit introductions to Sam!
  14. Saw a bunch of kids I teach as we left dinner - I think my street cred improved a lot with all the beards and patches on show. Ah yup - that'd be mine, couldn't find where it had been parked. Hope it was/isn't too much of a pain for you/anyone to get rid of - give it to the next small child you see? Yeah the first batch was a little too tasty so I had to hastily brew some more for the weekend. Had only been bottled for 8 days!
  15. Can I take my own food or picnic into the Thermal Pools?Yes feel free to bring your own lunch or picnic with you. But you won’t be able to bring your own BBQ and all drinks must be in unbreakable containers. Alternatively an extensive menu is available on site at the Garden House Café.
  16. If you leave the diameters of your respective broom handles I can make a bulk lot of heads on Friday while waiting for my ride - seems like we should be in at 7 so I'll miss the main convoy South.
  17. If Sam can't, I live in Richmond and would be happy to.
  18. Dunedin isn't really a place you need to worry too much about what suburb you should buy. Basically, look at what the sun is going to be like on the shortest day and what you can afford/How much will the driveway be bothered by your BL addled mind... Roslyn and Maori Hill are nice but pricey. Mornington is a pretty good compromise for sun/views/not too spendy IMO
  19. Work was super not happy about giving me time off so I'm travelling down with Isaac in the Probox, leaving NLN at 3:10 on Friday.
  20. First time sitting down and reading this thread in close to three weeks of renovation. After dealing with real estate agent scum and associated detritus I can't fucking wait for this. PINE!
