  1. I'm so jealous of your Escort obsession. That's a sweet powerplant for an Escort!
  2. I just had that in mine so I pulled it apart and regreased it. It's a bit of a job cos you've gotta pull the whole rack out, drill out the locking pin and strip down the tie rod. Mine sorted itself out by just regreasing it but if the bushes are too worn palmside do replacements. The haynes manual tells you how to do the whole procedure and it's not all that difficult, just a bit time consuming.
  3. Could be keen if im not still helping parents move house.
  4. Yep heading down in the AM. Planning to leave Caltex in Albany at 8.30am.
  5. Gave it some thought, decided just to go with the original day trip idea. Convoying down with a mate in his brother's corvette. I think the plan is to leave albany around 8.30am.
  6. I've said that every meet for the past 6 months...
  7. I couldnt afford nats this year sadly, priority was getting escort all road happy so that next year i can focus on the fun stuff.
  8. Did you keep any of your old exhaust? Cant wait to see/hear the new setup! Sounds like a nice leap up from what you had.
  9. Provided I can get Escort all back together by then with fancy new steering pieces, I shall also be in attendence.
  10. Well maybe we should get a group of us going down for a day trip on Saturday? Ill have a seat or two in the escort if people wanna car pool.
  11. I was gonna do a day trip on the Saturday just to check it out as I've never been.
  12. Sweet cheers Daniel and Shane, that'll be this weekend's job. Definitely just feels like a bit too much free play so should be all good just pulling it apart and regreasing it.
  13. Right so the front camber has always been a little crazy, but I've found it's rooted a tyre so that's going to be replaced tomorrow. But another issue is a knock coming from the right front wheel, I inspected it tonight and have traced it to the rack end. My haynes manual describes a ball join in there, does anyone know anything about these? It reckons they're replaceable. Will then get a wheel alignment to sort the camber issues and hopefully make it a little less flighty. Gotta sort these things before beach hop!
  14. My pick would be silverdale, there's a few sheds up there that are a lot cheaper than albany ways. Not sure who to talk to, maybe just have a drive around and look at some for lease signs or browse trademe. [unrelated]Chris is the man[/unrelated]
  15. Also make sure blinker fluid is topped up! And remember to feed the apex seals 3 times daily. Also. Do a skid oi.
  16. Can you imagine the backlash if it got caught on some railway tracks and got hit by a train? So not keen to see that headline!
  17. I could get a mate of mine to weld/fix bits that need fixing and replace tube if it's cracked. I'm sure anything is better than the factory extractors.
  18. Wanna sell your old extractors? Those new ones look MINT. Definitely a sweet birthday present. Also count as a gift towards your valentine, surely?
  19. Yeah lets do it aye. Seeing I now have a roof rack I might take my bike along too. Ned you should bring your slam trailer and chilli bin bike. See if anyone can bring some velo bikes and stuff. I reckon simple little things like that could win some big points towards best represented club aye.
  20. Yeah shall we do the pre meet meet down at parts master again?
