  1. Any luck finding those Escort parts?
  2. Ok. I will have a ring around this week.
  3. I'll see what I can find out. You'll have to bring your car round at some stage. It would be a pity to scrap those new brakes and wheels etc.
  4. Hey Felixx. I see you getting burnt on 105 speed. I have a plan to lower your car so its suspension works and you don't have to spend thousands at Milton. I wouldn't worry to much about those Cortina struts at the moment lets make the standard ones work.
  5. Sweet. Your cap looks ok, hard to say from photos. You might be able to fit some shells and call it good yet. Like Truenotch said you can fit the mains in place with the caps off just use an old shell or a feeler gauge to push them out/in. Mark everything before you take it apart so you know where it came from and which way it faced. The caps aren't interchangeable. Do these have an oil cooler?
  6. Thats how it's done. If the bearing has spun in the rod, the rod needs to be resized.
  7. It has to come out the top. The piston/rod won't clear the main bearing saddles etc. Do take the whole thing apart though if one bearing is dead the others are very likely to be dying. Get that crank polished , the rod resized, a good clean, and a new set of bearings. You'll be racing.
  8. Yeah If it's spun the bearing in the rod it is messed up and needs to be resized. It's unlikely to have spun a main bearing but not impossible. I would avoid the race bearings if they have more clearance than standard. If you reuse your crank it will be a bit worn so you will not want to add any more clearance.
  9. I wouldn't worry about race bearings. If it has run a bearing fitting bearings with more clearance would be a bad idea. When you say spun do you mean they have turned in the big end of the rod? Hopefuly it will take a set of shells and be a-OK again.
  10. Na, there has been some discussion though. I can't make it this year due to family commitments.
  11. Sweet, the diff is a bonus! Trusty Repco eh, call BnT there's a good chance they'll have one.
  12. How hot does the temperature gauge get when you're driving it? If it's under about half it will need a new thermostat.
  13. Red = Parklight. Black = earth. Clear tube should have a fitting on the end to screw into the hole the oil pressure switch is in now.
  14. This is so sweet Lingling! Hope you have a nice dry garrage to stop it rusting away. I drove down Henderson Valley road yesterday, Tarma autos still has a sign down there, I'm not sure if they still are though.
  15. Got fluid in the mastercylinder Felixx?
  16. We need to do this soon. Redwood Tavern in the next couple of weeks?
  17. Yeah no problems. PM me your address etc.
  18. Who was the OS member who came in the MK3 Cortina? Shit that was mint, good to see you along. I completly mised the Jenson Heally too.
  19. Call Justin Neil Engineering. He does a top job for good prices and lots of toyota diff work. I have had axles resplined by him and they are spot on. He is always busy though so expect to wait for a bit.
