is it essential to have a muffler? i got a flowmaster ish style jobbie mid ships then probly a meter and half of pipe after that dumps behind rear wheel, i put a coby in half way to try quieten it down and i think its actually louder. im thinking i will get a new system made meyby keep the flowmastery thing and get a muffler on the rear (loose my pride and joy side exit) want to get quiets now, kinda draw less attention because its proper noisy atm

peugot have same stud pattern as escorts but run a different of set i ran peugot 307 15inch wheels with no dramas but did have to have spacers. currently got 13 inch hotwires with 175 or 185 50 profiles up front and 60 profiles in the back. its sweet. the 15s would rub the inner guard a little on full lock and i had the suspension pretty jammed in the weeds. had to roll rear arch lips with my 13s but like i said its generaly in a on bumps state

im running twin 40s on a 1600. i took whole set up off of firewall bent the bolt to firewall tabs in the vice so the whole unit sat 50ishmm lower, then redrilled the holes for the inner guard bracket to suit. its actually made the brakes better 2. done it myself and it works

whats the requirements for a gearbox xmember? put type 9 in the wag, made crosmember out of 2x1 and 1x1 box section if my memory serves me its about 2mm wall thickness. has 100x150x6 plates that bolt thru matching 100x150x6mm plates that are welded to floor pan. 10mm bolts with nylocks thru floor/plates and 8mm bolts+nylocks holding mount to xmember. had to cut factory stiffening to bring stick position back so do those edges need to be welded up? can the plate covering hole on trans tunnel be rivited in? Ta chaps
