Fine at half throttle but now when you hold it foot flat its starts letting of back fires and blew the muffler open

got a miss in my bmw e21, runs mint when half throttle but soon as you full throttle it splutters and misses and wont speed up. Thinking its a fuel issue, has brand new fuel filter. Its got a solex 4 barrel carb. Any help?
