  1. ^ and it was usefull, i think if we called kaikoura police, say we want to have a club cruise up to the track, do a spot of maintenance and have a wee drive, you cant get out of 2nd gear i don't think, so its pretty safe. just set ourselves aside from boy racers and more as a responsible club
  2. essentially, taking a bucket of gravel, a shovel and some gate gear is easy enough, but its the legality's around fencing off property you don't own that will potentially give issues, you'll have to find out who owns the land the track is on before you can even think about playing with no hassle from the cops
  3. ^ very likely actually, i kept reading it as Count R, like a gtr vampire
  4. that amp has been trough the wars before i got it cheap, it's since been trough maybe 3-4 cars and in storage as well. cant complain really. exactly same with mine, and its still running along like the day it was built. also for the exhaust, considered a small motorbike tip? i picked up a harly one for $20 to see how it went on my car and it worked extremely well, though i did weld a 2nd small barrel muffler before it to keep it reasonably quiet
  5. i sold a bazzilion cans of matt black and sparkly anodized purple paint, black camper van with purple stripes. felt kinda bad, but at the same time, it was hilarious, tourists are gonna shit themselves
  6. those old v12s are such nice amps!
  7. yeah i slammed a pinto weber onto my 18r and the jets were pretty much right, the idle jet was way out, but i get the impression someone had put something weird in there in the first place. but damn did it open that engine up. sounds so sweet on the secondary's too, once my car is back from the panel beaters and the insurance company stop tripping over their own shadows, i can seriously get onto this. will possibly just rebuild the other weber ive got, but i have the feeling it was missing something :/
  8. hmmm, ill do some research then, may have this project underway sooner than i thought . this guy from the states has gotten his truck running pretty sweet, how close would the datsun l20b be to the toyota 18r is there enough difference or would his jet settings be pretty much exactly what i need. hes got a bigger cam, but i want to do the same to mine too.. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/3355- ... s__st__200
  9. i see, well ill have to see what i can do. i do have a spare Spanish one in fairly good condition, but im pretty sure ill need two Italian or two Spanish yeah?
  10. would you been keen to part with a 32/36 i still need another, and itl need to be an Italian one or else i forsee impossible tuning issue if i mix Italian and Spanish. i quite like the progressive carb style, and the transition between primary's and secondary's is fun
  11. dgas is the 38mm version yeah? the whole reason the dgav has me sold is that ive already got one, with the tuning sorted pretty damn tight, thanks to numerous osgc' this concept has been relevant to my interests for so long, and even if i had a $700 side draught setup, id still want to try the twin down draughts. ive found a guy whose setup twin 32/36 on a datsun l20, whats the jetting likely to be between 4cyl and 6cyl? any difference at all? he may have done all the hard work for me now for a question i think i know the answer to. can you weld cast manifold material with a mig welder? im pretty sure ill have to get some parts made up and weld the rest from scratch. EDITEDITEDIT: you can get inline4 L20 engine
  12. So a while ago i put a weber 32/36 onto my car and i love it, it has such a great noise and the power increase was awesome for such an easy(ish) upgrade. though i know i wont be 100% happy untill i have twin carbs, and before people get started, i know twin sidedraughts are the best. but its also the most expensive and how everyone does it. im really keen to setup a twin Weber 32/36 system. make my own manifold etc.. and not spend a HUGE amount of money, for what will be imo a pretty sweet unique setup. my main question is, how would i jet a twin setup compared to a single setup?
  13. could you get it machined and re swaged?
  14. what thee go with heading up their and putting a chain over the gate while we play?
  15. when i was a kid i planned to save up and buy it and paint it a sweet colour and sail around the work telling work to gtfo
  16. we shall be needing another cruise soon then. just be careful when doing burnouts on gravel
  17. if need be, buy rego plates for some other sub 2kw honda, slam it on the c50, whose gonna know its not the right honda
  18. since you've got the tires off, don't to it by hand, use the cars engine and spin them up
  19. fuck yeah, gf txt me first thing in the morning and told me to wake up and buy a pizza
