damn, that actually looked pretty good, cant spot a single skyline to be honest...

some good progress has been made on panel and paint, should see the light of day again by the end of the week apologies for averages photos. Also picked up these for a tidy sum out of a Porsche 924, i doubt the rear seats will fit, but they have good leather on them so ill proably keep them incase i ever need to make a repair on the fronts

youd probably be surprised how hard it is to find a complete set, what with alloys being standard for years now

oh yeah, i heard the cops planned to be all over the cruise before i even heard about the cruise, once ive got my car back on the road in a few weeks ill look at setting up a more legit cruise for us, and not advertise it on tardbook

keep the weld relatively cool so it wont warp and you should be fine, wont it give more of an ssr mk1 look rather than wide steelie though? not that that's a bad thing at all

just picked up some black Porsche 924 seats that are essentially in mint condition aside from one patch where the black die in the leather has worn down a bit? whats the best way to sort that out? cant get pics if required

my similar era corona has spings that flat with blocks, as far as i know the leaves havn't been reset

always wondered, whats the deal with running pretty slow cars at the drags? do people get annoyed due to the boredom of probable over 18s runs

spent all day learning about bending metal today actually. at every point you bend, it messes up the grain and the hardness gets well and truly messed up. this will result in work hardening and very quick failure at those points. sping shops bend the metal (probably in one big bend) then heat the steel and quench it in water, this brings all the grains in the steel to the same point so its essentially one piece again.

i lold, spend the ~100 get them properly reset and RE TEMPERED and maybe at a leaf, i need to do this too at some point

gauges sound like an earth problem, looks for corrosion around terminals , also are they wired in such a way that if one bulb blew they all would not light?

so you may be able to answer, does the 18rg head really just bolt right onto the 18r block? i havnt been able to find any definitive info. you got a fuel injected rg head or is it carby? could be pretty keen if its carby...

I bought it from a guy who rescued it from an idiot that was putting a rotory in it. he put an 18r and 5 speed into it. I put a weber 32/36 into that engine, thanks to help from Mutiny and from Valiant, and countless OSers that offered advice, will eventually be running dual 32/36. First thing i did was throw the sweet headlight grills on that have been in my fathers garage for years, back when he owned a corona the next model along. i enjoy my music so i put together a tidy boot setup to make use of the weird shaped space towards the back of the boot, ended up with a rather large stereo while still having very usable boot space, Pioneer head unit, Response 6.5" components in the doors, fusion 6x9" & 4" on the rear shelf, Alpine v12 4ch and Precision Power 4ch amps in the boot rack, kenwood dB+ sub woofer in the boot setup, Incorporated spare wheel well in the boot setup. Probably overkill, but a majority of the gear has been gifts, and i couldn't sell it for what its worth to me anyway. Plus cant argue that its a damn nice sounding system, its really balanced. i also upholstered the parcel tray and the dash top with the same black carpet. then i bought some 17"s cause that's what the cool kids do. i picked up a harly exhaust tip for $20, welded it to a small barrel muffler and welded it on, i like the engine note, not particularly louder at idle and cruise, but can get rowdy when you play with the revs. then sold the 17's cause they didn't fit right and i had a craving for more a3a 50% thanks to Ridal 50% thanks to Ewan at Hayotonka.com Then some idiot drove into it while i was out purchasing paint. from this to this, at least the rear bumper is getting sent away for straightening and re chroming Thanks to 4ag_Addict for the new lights and to my mate Brian, Briannz (just joined looking for a dato ute) for working at the panel beaters i can trust. im picking the car up monday, and then getting stuck right into panel and paint, will update with pics as this happens. Also have a brand new black carpet kit to go in, water temp, oil pressure and vacuum gauges to go in, a mk1 golf big front lip to modify and fit and an Evo 4 (?) oil cooler ready to plumb up as soon as i buy the lines.

whats a front lamp filament monitor? do these outputs not simply switch between two circuits? ie high and low?

your not stupid, that's just an really weird wiring diagram. looks like 56a and 56b are hi beam and dip beam 's' probably switches between these two options 31 is ground and i think 30 is power and 86 is the headlight on switch i would get a 2nd opinion before wiring up like this for peace of mind too

yeah, contrary to popular belief, cut springs aren't necessarily illegal. the front of my car has short shocks and cut springs and its captive as, rides pretty nice too. i openly discuss the fact that the springs are cut at wof time and i've never had an issue, usually praised for going about it safely and not chopping 50% of the spring out and riding on bump stops. the more you cut from the spring, the stiffer it will get.
