  1. My half arsed slightly rough measurements put the Anglia length at ~355-360 from center of inner mounting to rough center of ball joint. Mk2 Cortina is ~380.
  2. I love watching my sisters spitfire go on the hoist... you would almost swear the wheels are going to tuck under until they touch each other
  3. Tossed out a couple of sneaky bids on things over the last couple of days. Unexpectedly no-body bid against me... So now I have bought both of these: Chrome Avanti Giro Milazo Tri-ace Will figure out which I like more, steal the parts I want (like those amazing bars on the tri-ace) and sell the rest. I might continue this process through several iterations over the next few years (much to the horror of my fiance)
  4. Racing this weekend?? If the weather is up to it and we don't break anything tomorrow might see you there. Watch out for the lightning
  5. There are a couple of projects in there that people go in and work on.
  6. Nah man it would be perfect! Its not all crazy expensive stuff.
  7. This update isn't relevant to my sweet sweet old bikes (well it kinda is cos it has seriously delayed the major spending required for the healing diet) I was cleaning my Torrent today and discovered the aftermath of a high speed trip out the front door on mount grey a couple of weeks back I had gone to bunny hop a log at rather high speed and just didn't quite clear it, the bike disappeared from underneath me at a great rate of knots into some nice big rocks. When I got back on the bike the forks felt slow, so I blamed it on that, told my mates the cold must have been fucking with my fork oil viscosity (it was like sub zero) so I wound a couple of clicks into the rebound. That picture doesn't do a flash job of showing it, but there is a bloody solid dent where the deep graze is, and its right where the bushes go So I'm thinking it will probably be a little more than just replacing the lowers. Will discuss it with the insurance company tomorrow morning. Completely ruined my day finding that.
  8. If thats the place I'm thinking it is then it is fucking choice, not far from woolston and the guy that owns it is a champ. Be prepared to be stuck there for ages talking to him and drooling over his own collection
  9. There is an old prison in Ohura that is opened up as a bead and breakfast type place http://www.ohurastateprison.co.nz/
  10. Forgotten world highway (#43?) is pretty sweet but a big of a goat track. highway 3 is also fun but is often a fair bit of traffic, good roads though. If you do the forgotten world though, take a camera and stop at the Whangamomona Hotel and get a Whanga burger.
  11. I don't think it needs the starter either. It really is bloody easy to start, just need to work on your technique! Always looks more badass going to leave the pub when you kick start your bike (although not if you stand there for ages beating up your shins)
  12. Tange is the manufacturer of the steel i think. Tarini buys steel from Tange, builds bike, Ladaspeed unbuilds bike and builds it again with more awesome attached
  13. The simple act of lifting your gun-blued bike off the ground has completely ruined my state of happiness that I was in with my healing Now I'm spending massive amounts of time looking for lighter frames. I missed out on a perfect candidate the other day by a matter of mixing up my AM's & PM's and let a mint Healing Triathlete go for $70 Did your Tarini happen to look anything like this before it was stripped? or was it a 700c specific frame?
  14. EDIT: I'm out this month sorry guys. Will be back in new plymouth for a couple of weeks
  15. Nah man its hardly any work. The water jet machine will buzz out all those shapes in about 2 minutes. Then all I have to do is drill the two holes in the part that clamps to the bars (cos they are in the wrong plane for the water jet machine to get at) and bolt it together. It is quite intricate parts to cut though, with a few piercings so I'm worried that it might be quite expensive to get cut. Will see what happens.
  16. Fixed it! At least on my computer so far anyway. Will be 3 pieces cut from 10mm alloy and 2 pieces cut from 1.5 on the water jet machine. I will have to drill one hole and drill and tap another. Job done. (plus re-soldering the wires) I'll use nice stainless cap screws and dome headed nuts to keep it looking sweet. EDIT: Epoxy glue will also help keep the corners down and the indicator switch in place.
  17. I won't! I'll be in palmy gearing up for our first test day in the mustang
  18. close enough to car related. No explanations but man there is alot to learn from watching it. LyHFfbwd_KE
  19. Yeah man, the idea of flipping the mount has crossed my mind. At this stage I'm going to leave as is. Since all this other wiring is fucking off, its making the head light bezel look worse and worse, so a new headlight is moving further and further up the list of things to do. Once I have a new one I don't think it will look so silly with the mount up the way it is, will see anyway, the way I have designed it, its not a fork off job to flip so thats pretty choice. I was speaking to a painter man tonight at bike night, will probably start painting it after the uni holidays once I have finished the metal work on the tail and side covers. Steve I don't mind if you post some inspiration on my thread! I don't think most people mind the occasional good idea pic, just don't spam up their threads too much! But as far as my thread goes, go for gold But, in saying that, this thread is a choice place for inspirational pics (I keep up to date with it) viewtopic.php?f=52&t=22724 EDIT: We missed you tonight gal! Thought you might bring your lady along to bike night its such a romantic place
