  1. I personally feel we've steered too far away from the raw beauty that is a Roman vs MS Paint graph. The majesty is there with solidworks, but the raw emotion has been lost. Do better Dave xx PS: Paint 3D will do.
  2. Ive heard the compensator part is a direct swap over onto the top of your existing pump. I don't believe the internals can be swapped over though. I should get around to doing mine too.
  3. Bighorn compensators also work apparently. Ive got one but havent had a go at fitting it to my pump yet.
  4. An electric lift pump also helps, you can run them on a hob switch so they kick in at certain boost.
  5. What you don't get from the vids is how utterly amazing this thing sounds. Pootles around off boost and sounds very lucid, then all hell breaks loose. #wouldjumpagain
  6. Yeah I can help but not until after christmas sorry
  7. Yeah thats been done, works fine
  8. Yeah I've pulled that out and the starter works fine. I believe that the cog that the starter engages onto has its own clutch and its very slow to throw out to engage. So when I hit the starter it free spins for ages then slowly slows down as the starter clutch engages and then eventually the engine turns over. I'll find a diagram. Its a bitch to get to as the side cover of the gearbox needs to come off to get to it.
  9. Good score! If you ever find a spare starter clutch let me know, im after one for the 250 as the starter spins for an ages before kicking in
  10. Hurry up!
  11. Pretty good actually (its only a light car remember). Bombays it will chug up quite happily at 85-90k with say 3/4 throttle but not exactly mashed to the floor - I don't like thrashing it too much as they are known to be a kettle. Last time I ran up there I had boost down at 14psi. Ive had it had 18/19psi and its quite a bit different. Just a bit of a juggle getting the pump tuned to suit seeing as its only an NA one currently. The main issue with mine is that is wont hold peak boost in top gear and lopwer rpm so the exhaust housing is a bit big. Its a .58 currently and ive got a .49 to go on which should help. I don't really rev it out much so I don't think I will notice any top end drop. I should also pull finger and fit the compensator to the pump. One day.
  12. Out of interest, where did you get your copper triple core from? Ive been thinking about getting one for mine just for piece of mind. How hot were you water temps getting? With air con on and climbing big hills when loaded up mine can creep up to 90ish degrees on the Auberins. Usually high 70s/low 80s when not loaded and cruising with aircon on, and mid 80s with air con on and no trailer up big hills. It definitely runs a few degrees cooler with the air con off. My water temp probe is in the top pipe which you can just see in the photos I posted. I'm about to service the viscous coupling as they are known to cause a few issues and mine isnt fully locked up when hot (well when i've checked after turning the engine off). Could be something worth considering. When I'm towing the race car up the Bombays back from Meremere it gets a bit of a hiding, so I converted the headlight washer bottle into a radiator sprayer that mists with two jets onto the intercooler and radiator. It definitely makes a difference. Pre intercooler days I'd see up to 10 degrees of water temp difference so I know it works. To the other poster with the RD28, definitely fit a cooler if your able to. You may lose a smidge of response but more power, less heat and better fuel mileage all make for it being worth while.
  13. Ive seen 1kz's up over 900.
  14. Yeah I know - it gets the easy life. Compared it to a 1kz with stock tune, that will blow your mind how hot they get.
  15. Thanks, I tried to keep it tight and I really wanted to keep aircon so its all a bit of a squeeze. I get about 550 absolute peak now when really really loaded up, used to get 65- to 680, tempted to wind the pump back just a bit to bring it down closer to 500. Not so fussed if it drops a psi or two of boost in the process.
  16. No mine doesnt have a PTO yet, Ive got part of the kit but not the whole lot yet. I measured it up against a mates truck with a PTO and it clears, the cooler is no lower than the bottom of the grill. Its a 600x300 core. 2.5inch piping. And fuck it made a big difference. My EGTs dropped by well over 120 degrees pre turbo and it holds the hills way better. Running up to 18psi on a crappy 60 trim T3 thing. Ive got a td05h sitting waiting to go on but ive also got a smaller AR T3 exhaust housing and want to try that first. Currently helping a mate with his td42 turbo manifold using an old T4 I had on the starlet years ago, should go better than mine.
  17. I went the front mount route with my one, managed to get it to fit with the aircon in place and only a slight shave to the back of the grill but your right it needed two holes. I like what youve done with your truck, keep up with the updates!
  18. You love it really...
  19. Need burnout evidence please
  20. Wow what a coincidence, I watched the Smoking Tire feature again last night and wondered how you were getting on with the sale - glad its gone to a good home.
  21. Sweet as, thought I'd ask in the offchance Ive got a 300 front diff and the half shafts are a different length so hoping to find some 250 ones so I don't have to machine them down. Keep up the good progress
  22. Really weird one - is the face of the cam lobe true?
  23. Better be ready for OS 2017
  24. Don't suppose you have any spare front half shafts do you?
